I walked into the cold room where we were going to go over the lines for Something Everyone Needs. This wasn't the kind of production I saw myself in. I wanted to be in something bigger like Phantom of the Opera or Les Mis, we all have to start somewhere right? I sit next to a man who had a look of pure arrogance on his face. I set my coffee down and try to look like I didn't want to pass out.

I hear the booming voice of the producer say, "Hello everyone! This is day one and I am so excited for this! My name is Johnathan Quiz and how about we all go around and say our names and who we are playing!"

He was way to enthusiastic for 7 AM.

I look through my lines as everyone goes around the makeshift circle saying there names. Then I suddenly feel a tap on my shoulder and I perk up.

"Hello everyone. My name is Pippa Jones and I play Heather the female lead." Everyone claps and I look at the man next to me.

In a very proud tone he says, "Hey, my name is Lock Hunts and I play Andrew the male lead." With that he winks at me and everyone claps for him.

I hate him already.

Time crawls by as Johnathan explains everything and we don't even have time to go over the lines. I pack up all of my stuff once we're dismissed. I try to leave but someone forcibly turns me around. I look into his bright blue eyes. He pulls me in and our lips touch for about a second. I pull back and slap him square on the cheek and walk out. I knew he was just another arrogant wanna be. I open the door and see the hustle of New York. Now this was my town.

I wave my hand for a cab and one stops for me. I get in but before I can tell the man where I need to be the other door opens up and Lock sits next to me. He gives me a wide grin.

"Why the hell are you in my cab?" I angrily asked.

He doesn't answer me but whispers something in the cab drivers ear. Great the one time I get the lead in a show I get kidnapped by my co-star. I cross my arms and angrily look out the window. I wasn't getting out of this anytime soon.

"I don't know why your acting like this love. Most girls would dream to have Lock Hunts take them somewhere secret." He matter of factly said.

I don't even look at him as I flatly comment, "Do most girls even know who Lock Hunts is?"

No words come from his mouth and I feel a smirk on my face. The cab stops and I see we stopped at the cheesiest New York spot ever, central park.

I roll my eyes and see Lock run around the cab and open my door for me. He does a cheesy bow and says in a fake British accent, "My lady."

I get out of the cab and hit him square in the stomach with my purse. I was 110% done with him. I hear him chuckle as I start to walk toward the nearest Starbucks. I would need some more caffeine if I had to deal with this arrogant man child.

I look up and see Locks annoying face right in front of me. This is what I get for looking down. I roll my eyes again and try to get in front of him but he was not giving up. He kept blocking my way. I was just about to explode on him before he smiles and cheekily says, "Can I buy you another coffee?"

I slowly nod my head. What can I say? I'll do anything for some free coffee. He smiles and lets me walk into the jammed Starbucks.

I hear random words like venti, extra whip, and I didn't order this fly around the room.

"I want a venti iced caramel macchiato with a lot of caramel drizzle." I sternly tell him. I don't mess around with my coffee orders, what else can a diva run on?

Lock starts to smile and say, "You are such a stereotypical diva!"

I'm seriously going to kill him one day and Mr.Quiz or whatever will just have to deal with it. I go find a little table in the corner and pull out my phone. A text appears on the screen and the name that automatically brightens my day comes with it. Jake.

Jake was my high school sweetheart and I'm proud to say that after 2 years in the real world we were still going strong. Jake was visiting family back in our home state Iowa. I'm not proud of where I'm from but I'm happy that I could get out of that dumb little farming community.

"Hey babe! I'm so excited to see your show when it comes out! Everyone says hi. Even Cara says she misses you! Ily :) <3"

Ew Cara Lanister. She made my high school life a living hell. She was my competitor for every school production. I still beat her but that didn't stop her from flirting with Jake. But she can't hurt me anymore, look who's in New York starting her Broadway career while she's stuck in little Iowa taking care of her cows.

I send a quick reply as Lock sets two coffees on the table and says, "It's like a war up there. I got you a shot of espresso because it looked like you needed it."

I look him straight in the eye, expressionless, "What the heck do you want."

He grins and says, "I wanted to get to know the lady I was going to kiss on stage."

"It's acting you know?"

He laughs and nods as he takes a sip of his girly frappuccino. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out gay. I grab my drink from the middle of the table and take a sip.

"Good job Lock you didn't forget the extra caramel. Most people do." I compliment.

"I'm totally boyfriend material!"

I sit straight up and say, "I have a boyfriend for your information and we are happy together!"

He gives me a look that says, "Oh really?"

I scoff and walk off. Then I realized I forgot my coffee and do the walk of shame back to the table and grab it. I point my nose in the air and walk out the door as I hear Locks soft chuckles fill the crowded store.

This is not what I thought having a co-star would be like.
