What a wonderful way to start a morning.

Hermione PoV:
I'm now sitting on my bed staring at the letter in my hands with the red seal of Hogwarts underneath my thumb. My life is was now being entirely destroyed with this one letter in my hand which was delivered this morning, with an owl coming through my window while it was snowing horrendously.
How did I get here, I'm not too sure but the universe decided to play the game of chances today and here I was with the thing I never would've thought that would happen.
Yes I was getting married as the letter now said showing the extract from the ministry
'Due to the drastic amount of population decrease due to the war and the birth rates being quite slow, the ministry has decided to make a new law, enforcing people of 16-30 to be married and produce children, we wish you all best of luck in your marriages and best wishes..... try not to kill the other we wouldn't want any more blood spilled'
My blood was boiling, had they indeed tried to add some slight humour to this absolute outrage. And to think these people were in charge of the WHOLE wizarding world.
I glared at the name that was scratched onto my letter using a quill and ink, the person if you would describe them that, I was betrothed to, the nasty creature I would willing kill in less than a blink.
I looked at the ghastly writing
DRACO LUCIUS MALFOY
It's the one of the worst things to ever happen to me, married to a god damn Malfoy.
I hate his blonde hair and his annoying black suit, like he's going to a funeral everyday. At least now he has a reason as he better start watching himself when he walks.
Why am I in this because of the war and the population has decreased drastically and now I have to receive deathly stares from Malfoy and the only difference is I will be wearing a wedding band from him.
I threw the letter into the fire until it was thrown back at me, landing on my trunk which was  ready to be put next to the door for my departure tomorrow back to Hogwarts, seems that it wasn't actually ready to be closed. I folded the letter back up sliding it into my trunk.
What a wonderful way to start my morning, with no one here to comfort me, no parents, no friends at my side just a life wrecking letter. I giggled to myself the  venomous dripping sound of sarcasm only for my ears to hear.

Draco PoV:
I had nothing to say when I saw it, no reaction came out of me and I think that was what surprised my mother the most. She was kind, a lot kinder than me for sure but I wasn't much of a standard but it did indeed take her by shock that I just stood and let my eyes burn through the paper.
She came closer to me "Draco, love Im absolutely not happy that you haven't been permitted to pick who you will wed but Hermione Granger is a clever, beautiful, kind girl and I'm very much glad your taking this well even though I know your twos history isn't the most... appealing." She had a grin on her face one which I didn't see often.
But like I said I wasn't a very kind person so yes I was the reason for my mother's grin to soften into just a faint smile with my words.
"Mother I'm not taking this well at all, it is just this is mudbloo- " she snapped at me before I finished my sentence.
"I shan't have that word used in my house Mr Malfoy, and I am your mother so you shan't use it in my presence or anyone else's, understood"
I nodded only out of the love for her as I was still up to the brim with fury. " As I was saying mother I am not at all eccentric as you are but instead I must say I'm so angry I have no actions to even express such a thing, not even me committing murder would help release the rage of being married to such a loathsome girl, if you could called her even that" I let a snarl out.
"Draco don't talk such foul things, now get ready for school tomorrow while you ponder over it and maybe even write her a letter."
I was quick to reply "What would you like me to write about my undying love for her." I rolled my eyes watching as my mother's eyes narrowed at me and let out a heavy breath.
"Apologies mother, that is no way for me to talk to you." I pressed my lips to her hand, as I waited for her to dismiss me, I was being too risky with her today because of the news but I wasn't in the mood for dying by my mothers hand today even if it felt better than getting married to Granger.
I was dismissed by my mother being berated for acting like being raised by a mother with no morals, it was one of her favourite lines or she would say along the lines of that she would send me to France to gain some manners.
I tucked the letter into my trunk, looking into the study wheee my mother was writing something on a piece of parchment paper before tying it to her owl and sending it off.

Hermione PoV:
I had just returned to my house with a latte, two cakes and some cat treats for crook shanks.
As I closed the door behind me and took off my wet socks from the snow I saw a little owl waiting on my dining table with a letter attached to its leg.
I took out my dinner from the fridge and put it in the microwave, this was what it was like when your parents are dead and you have no one to live with but your cat and the house you inherited.
I opened the letter to be surprised that it was from Narcissa Malfoy
Dear Hermione Granger
It has come to my knowledge that you and Draco are to be married. You are quite the intelligent, beautiful, creative woman so I must say that I am pleased that such a kind woman as yourself was picked for my Draco.
I felt myself blush as she showered me with compliments, she was quite nice and sweet unlike her son, it was also very kind of her to write to me even if she could've chose to ignore this matter. She continued the letter.
I know that you and Draco haven't had the best of history nor much in common but I do pray that you at least try to tolerate him as well as I will always make sure that you are happy with him, his actions and of course that he also treats you splendidly.
I do know that Draco can be a bit of a, well this coming from his mother, a asshole, excuse my crass language,
I chuckled at her insulting of Draco yet her tone of voice still sounding ever so supporting and gentle. It seems that Narcissa Malfoy may be the only thing I like about Draco Malfoy. I started to eat my cake pushing my cold pasta aside.
I would love it though if we could meet up one day and have a coffee or a just a chat, I would love to meet my daughter in law. I apologise if I am coming off strong but I am quite excited to meet you, but of course don't feel pressured to meet me of course if it's against your wishes.
Best of wishes
Narcissa Malfoy (your future mother in law and hopefully friend)
I felt myself grinning as the letter came to an end, I loved her she was ever so charming and sweet. I wrote her a letter back deciding to meet her the first weekend back at school for a coffee
I had made a new friend, even if it was my worst enemy's mother, hey is blood actually thicker than water, maybe so seeing the characteristic difference .
I retired myself to bed, forgetting about everything for the time being and letting myself be engulfed by the darkness and peace.
I doubt being married to Malfoy would involve a lot of peace and quiet. At least I knew what would keep Malfoy in check as I chuckled to myself.
His mother
