Draco PoV:
I woke up to the sound of the manor door being banged on. I inhaled through my nose before going to open it and was greeted by Blaise.
"Morning Drakey, time to get up and ready !" He was grinning like an idiot as he entered the door.
We walked into the drawing room where my mother was putting on her favourite set of pearl earrings on with a velvet box wrapped in red bow next to her on the table.
She spun around as cheery as she was "Blaise! Darling how are you?" She went up to him giving him a hug and a peck on the cheek. Blaise probably lived in our house longer than he did in his own but yet he still insisted on knocking.
I was half convinced that he only did it so that he would wake up and open the door for him as he had access to the all the wards.
"I'm fine thank you, how are you Mrs Malfoy looking as well as ever." He gave a returning peck on the cheek, the two sure did like their formalities.
I turned to Blaise who was now smirking at me as I flipped him off when my mother's back was turned. He made a fake motion of being stabbed as if he was hurt by the gesture earning a faint smile from me.
"You two boys get your belongings I'll see you off from the station."
It was a tradition for us to be seen off by my mother so I should've expected Blaise to be arriving until I remembered the new marriage law.
"Blaise, I pray do tell, which unfortunate person had the honour and punishment of being married to you?"
I chuckled to myself as my grin rised and as his fell to a scowl.
"Oh do tell Blaise I mean we shall find out either way and both of you drink your tea before we go off." My mother added.
I took a seat opposite Blaise and began to sip at my tea, as I watched my mother take a seat the only sound being the clinking sound of Blaise stirring his tea with the spoon, hitting at my mothers most loved china.
She ushered him to sip as I smiled down into my tea, seems Lady Luck doesn't like to smile much.
"It's Ginevra Molly Weasley." He took a long sip of his tea, I could now see the yellow of his knuckles around the cup.
I felt an even bigger smirk rising before I spoke "You must be thrilled, I mean your parents must not have minded too much as she is a pure blood."
"Not that it mattered if she wasn't." My mother rose from her seat, being quick to comment and collecting our empty cups. "I mean I don't know too much of her but then again I thought Harry Potter and her were lovers, I mean you most likely will get paired with someone different."
"Their relationship ended 7 months after the war, so 4 months from now, so actually so it seems I will be sticking with her." Blaise gave a tight smile, he then turned to me, oh god now what. "Hermione Jean Granger and I thought I was unlucky."
I quickly got up from my seat taking out my wand, I was of age now I could do what I pleased. "How do you know?" I growled at him.
"Your charming mother" he gave me an innocent smile which I wanted to wipe off ever so badly but then I again I would get reprimanded by my mom for hitting my best friend.
I lowered my wand and turned to see my mom with the velvet box in her hands. I raised an eyebrow at her just to be dismissed and told that me and Blaise should get our things as we were now leaving. I straightened the collar of my coat and of we apparated to the station.Hermione PoV:
I was down stairs saying goodbye to crook shanks before leaving him with the neighbours. I dragged the trunk behind me before using floo to get to the Weasleys house as I exited the fire place.
"Morning!" I yelled out to absolutely no one in particular.
Of course there was Molly and Ginny whispering about something and everyone was at the dining table sitting all hush.
I walked over to the table where a very big breakfast was left untouched before Molly Weasley came up to me and begged for me to sit. I took a seat next to Ginny squeezing her hand.
She glanced at me, tears and fury in her eyes "the new marriage law, it's everyone's letters, some of us have go lucky some not really." I hugged Ginny as her tears started to drop. "I just got over Harry Hermione and now I have to instantly get married." She looked up at me her face all red and blotchy with tears.
I felt sympathy but anger at the same time "Ginny what is wrong with you, when do you cry over ridiculous matters you have no control over and especially a boy." I felt a bit unfair for not exactly comforting her but I knew this would work a lot better than letting her be coddled and succumbed into this new life we would all face.
Arthur Weasley stood up from his chair, his wife at his side and began to speak with meek smile on his face. "Why hello Hermione, how are you." He spoke as he spotted me.
"I've been better on some days." I gave a one side smile in return before he continued.
"I know as my children I love you all, even you Harry despite not being my child," I felt a pang being left out but it wasn't expected for me to be included of course.
. "As a family we all decided for you to have some time to process and come to terms with what is happening but as there will now be new marriages and you are to leave for school we would like for everyone to share who they have been paired with. We shall love you all no matter who you have been paired with."
He was now smiling with sadness in his eyes, but would they accept who I had, I mean I wasn't included as family.
First George rose "I have been paired with...Angela Johnson" That was Fred's girlfriend which made me feel sympathy for him.
Next Harry rose "Pansy Parkinson"
Next was Ron "Luna love-good"
Next was Ginny "Blaise Zambini" I heard myself gasp, it came out more of a rasp though as no one noticed. Everyone had started to comfort Ginny but then Ginny pushed them away. She turned to me "Hermione what about you?"
I felt my heart beat quicker, a shiver ran down my spine and Ginny's hand which was now over my hand felt burning. I rose from my seat grabbing my trunk and belongings hugging Ginny, I whispered into her ear not ready for the uproar it would cause from the others. "Draco Malfoy"
I vanished using the floo to the station, I was gone so no one would ask me, yet anyway. They would find out. Of course they would but it didn't mean they had to find out from me or now. I saw Ginny coming out of the fire behind me grabbing my arm.
Her eyes looked tender, her grip tight "You don't have to tell them they can find out themselves, but it's fine Hermione I love you the same."
But it wasn't fine, I looked at her the snow falling behind us as we walked into a bakery, I told her about the letter from Mrs Malfoy and Ginny had approved of her as much as I did.
Still I felt empty as we walked to the train station and we saw all of the Weasley family and Harry talking and laughing, I wasn't apart of their family like Arthur Weasley has indirectly said.
For the last time I turned to her for the last time and hugged her "Go to your family Ginny, the next time you see them you may be Ginny Zambini so take the opportunity."
"Why don't you come Mione your family too." But the way she said it sounded as if it was a lie, which it was.
"No Ginny, I'm not and that's okay I have friendslike you guys. My advice don't ever take your family for granted Ginny trust me on that." I watched her walk away not turning back once to look at me.
I turned back around looking at my watch as I had an hour left at the station as I walked to the end of the station where the pillar was as I sat on my trunk, watching the snow fall to my feet.
I don't think I ever admitted it to anyone or even myself but I was lonely ever since my parents died , not just now but most the time with everyone I love gone or not here.
