Hermione PoV;
Narcissa was now making her way back over with her friend, a lady in purple with a deep slit on the thigh and a fur thing around her arms. What was with rich people and this place. I could probably be mistaken as a waitress here if it wasn't for me with Narcissa and Malfoy.
"Hermione this is my dear friend, Laniq Oren." She gave me a big grin but all I managed was a meek smile. Laniq had placed a hand in my shoulder laughing how posh people do with her gloved hand slightly in front of her face laughing. "Aren't you a shy one dear." She went to go greet Draco before turning back to me. "So tell me how does it feel to be the next new lucky Mrs Malfoy, come I'll buy you a drink while we chat." I nodded in agreement as I walked away from Draco and Narcissa where they chatted about their own matters.
She took me to a table where I sat and she lured me a glass of champagne, you can't blame me for thinking it was at least thinking I was drinking down 300 pounds right now. "So do tell how have you captured Draco Malfoys heart I mean I always thought he liked the wild ones not people like you." She gave me a smile but the meaning behind it was clear. Her green eyes popped out of her dark skin as she flashed her white teeth.
"Well I guess we'll never know unless you ask him of course, anyway I best go back, thank you the drink was absolutely divine." I had tried to be polite but I was about to overflood with anger.
She stood up hugging me before whispering into my ear "His mothers told me that he's not at ALL happy with this horrible decision." As she pulled away I poured myself another glass of her expensive champagne whispering back
"Neither am I." before leaving her wishing a good night. I was going to drink this champagne with absolute scourn, what a ghastly lady.
I sat down and everyone was ordering until it had come to me. I wasn't planning to pay for anything anyway so I had made the excuse that I had drink WAY too much champagne at Laniq's table. As the food had come my stomach grumbled as in a cry of hunger, god why did there always have to be something that exposes me. Narcissa began speaking "so have you two thought about the wedding yet or ring even?" Honestly if I could I would tell her that I thought a lot more ways how to kill Malfoy then our wedding but I just gave a glance at Malfoy for some words.
He spoke for me "no mother we will sort it out in time and I'm sure Hermione will invite you for dress shopping not to worry but I believe we best be off I've ate and Hermione seems to be full off champagne so we will be off. Do meet us another time."
Narcissa piped up "why Draco I usually would be angry with you for not spending time your dear mother but I see you want couple time so I shall see you all in soon time." She has kissed me goodbye on both cheeks before complimenting my dress which I could tell that she also thought I was underdressed from her pitiful look and walked out. God that dinner was not dinner but rich people trying to bite each other others head off.Draco PoV:
"You seem flustered." She walked beside me her cheeks blazing in pink but her chin tucked in as she was cold. She gave a quick glance at me but still she didn't speak. "Stop here Granger let's grab something to eat." She then turned to me as we entered the cafe. It was late at night but was somehow still open, god she should be grateful that it is.
We sat down at the table leaning over to me "I thought you're full after eating, I don't even want to try and pronounce it." I raised a brow at her before ordering her a grilled cheese it looked the most decent thing.
"Yes but I'm still hungry." Truth be told Im not hungry by the slightest but I know she is. And can I make a point that I am not at all trying to do it to be nice, oh no. I just can't stand her to be all hangry, her stubbornness also refuses to use my money but I shall let her think she has won her battle against. I'm not as petty as her oh no I'll just rub in her face when I have an opportunity to.
We didn't utter a single word to each other as we waited for the food. I had plans after this with Blaise despite the time, he had been insistent that we take a visit to the place. I decided today could be fine with a slight detour involved. It had arrived before I pushed it to Granger.
"Turns out I'm not hungry Granger, you eat it." She looked at me with a hard stare, quite amusing if you ask me. She raised her eyebrows giving in before biting into the bread.
I waited for her to finish her sandwich until I heard "Draco." I felt a slight buzz itch at me as I heard my first name. She was looking down her cheeks had returned to their rosy state of before.
"Yes? Hermione." I had followed her lead on the first names. I had an urge to hear it again, just one more time it was so strange and unusual of her it kinda sparked interest in me. As the feeling came and went at the same time she had looked up at me.
"Draco.. um thank you but I promise to try and pay you back just it's very late so can we go back." I don't think I have been more obsessed with hearing my name than her saying it.
The way it rolled off her touché so smoothly yet it was one of the only times I heard her say it. Damn. "Why fancy a couple walk, Hermione?" I wonder if me saying it had the same affect in her but from my first comment I could see she was more irritated than anything.
"Look can we just go?" I got up as she had raised her voice and gave a look at her before handing my scarf to her and pulling a strand of chocolate hair out of her hair to tease, I felt like being in a muggle film, makes me kinda laugh in all honesty.
"I'll see you later, Hermione. Be asleep by the time I come back, okay?" We were now out the shop as the moonlight hit her face. God she was gorgeous, there was no denying it.
I slowly walked away but I could feel her eyes boring into me before I heard a soft voice. "Where are you going?" I turned to face her.
Ok now it irritated me, she was pretty but Granger I'm allowed to admire beauty I don't really need the care. It all felt like a big act the way her face showed such concern. She walked towards me but it felt like a big joke, I mean it didn't click before but at dinner we couldn't even talk to each other.
"Come back soon, that's all." I realised that my face had a scowl and it slowly softened. She had let me have my space and I was grateful for it.
"Sweet dreams, Hermione." I gave her my coat walking away before a response. But I swear I could hear the little whisper of
"Sweet dreams too Draco."
