A/N: Alright, I said I would switch to third person, but halfway through writing the chapter, I realized what a horrible decision this was. Let me explain; Konosuba's comedy relies entirely on its characters. In the LN it depends even more on the first-person perspective of Kazuma, describing the absurd situation he finds himself in, adding flavor. Using the third person will make the writing more concise, sure. But it will also make it robotic, practically killing the comedy, which is the selling point of the series. So, I'll stick with the first-person view.

Anyway, enough rambling, and let's start with the chapter.

You know, when we set camp yesterday and I slid under my covers, I expected to face the blinding and/or warm sunlight of these arid plains upon opening my eyes. What I didn't expect, however, was for my heart to sink in and my tongue to retreat to the back of my throat at the sight of a bespectacled prosecutor leaning down and staring right into my eyes.

"Good, you're awake," she said, straightening her posture.

I was still idly lying down with open eyes and processing the situation. I eventually got up, albeit still sitting, and breathed in and out. "You know, Sena, if you wanted to kill me, you could've just struck me in my sleep instead of giving me a heart attack."

She shook her head, "I wasn't trying anything," she stepped aside and pointed to something.

Upon noticing what it was, I immediately stood up, letting the covers slide down. "A carriage?!" Indeed, it was a large, lavishly decorated royal carriage led by four strong-looking horses. There were also four guards, one of which was the coachman while the others stood by.

There were also three other people: a young man with light brown hair, and dark eyes. He's wearing over a black mesh a full set of plate armor with glimmering blue color and gold gilded borders, as well as a wing motif on the chest area. The second was a petite girl with purple eyes and green hair tied up in a ponytail. She's wearing a black and purple tube top, a long blue scarf around her neck, dark brown stockings with green diamond markings on both sides and light brown boots. The last one was a young girl with maroon colored hair tied in two braids and purple eyes. She's wearing an orange tube top with a brown v-neck cut as well as an orange skirt with white frills underneath, in addition to a short white hooded coat with two blue diamond-shaped pins.

"What the hell is going on? Who are these people?" I asked.

"Huh? What's going on?"

"W-WHAT?!!! I SWEAR I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. WHAT DID YOU TWO GET ME INTO?!"

I look over and see that Wiz and our coachman are awake.

"We are not here to arrest anyone," Sena stepped in, "We are simply here to escort Mr. LN to Axel."

I wore a face of bewilderment along with my two companions, "Huh? Escort, not arrest? Have I become a celebrity overnight?!"

"Let me explain everything; You have stirred quite the uproar in Alcanretia, the most famous and infamous city in Belzerg. A demon who's morally good? A weak demon who is not hurt by a blessing or an exorcism, no matter how powerful? Not only that, but a demon who can dish out blessings and exorcisms of his own, use holy magic as an archpriest would. Add to that the suspicious record numbers of your questioning."

"Still, what does that amount to?"

"It amounted to getting the attention of...hmm...someone important. They wish to remain anonymous. You're already protected by law, but the stigma against demons remains. So, someone within the royal court ordered your protection."
