Chapter 18: Whenever Two Shous Meet, There Must Be a Gong (18)
On the winner's podium, flowers and glory surrounded the three individuals.
Wei Xieyang's face was as frosty as a flower, beauty accompanied by a cold arrogance, softening only slightly when his gaze met with Yue Chu's. Yue Chu, on the other hand, was smiling and graceful, waving politely at the cameras. His starry eyes gleamed like a silver sea, irresistibly captivating.
Only the third-place winner, Du Guzhou, looked indifferent as if not winning but being eliminated. His jet-black eyes were icy, rejecting interviews outright.
Yue Chu linked arms with Wei Xieyang as they arrived at the celebration venue, only to be surrounded by a group of people in black uniforms.
The leader quickly assessed him, presented his credentials, and sternly detained Yue Chu.
"Yue Chu, you're being summoned on charges of intentional harm to others and instigating assaults. Please cooperate."
The trophy in Yue Chu's hand hadn't even cooled down before it plummeted from the clouds into the mire. Onlookers gazed at him with curiosity mixed with skepticism, whispering and speculating.
Recognizing them as patrol officers, Wei Xieyang shielded Yue Chu behind him, gripping his hand tightly, wanting to question their intentions, but Yue Chu pulled away.
Yue Chu wasn't afraid. He squeezed Wei Xieyang's hand reassuringly and whispered, "It's okay, just a routine summons. Whether I've done anything or not, I know in my heart. Don't worry."
He tucked the trophy into Wei Xieyang's arms, gave him a quick hug, nodded politely to the patrol officers, and then left.
Wei Xieyang held the trophy tightly, his heart filled with worry, and he rushed out without paying attention to anything else.
What on earth happened? He didn't believe these accusations at all. It must be someone manipulating things behind the scenes.
His gaze was cold as ice as he opened his communicator to start investigating. When Yue Chu was taken away from him, it felt like the air had been sucked out of the room. He even felt suffocated, unbuttoning his shirt and taking deep breaths in frustration.
Looking out the window, his worried and anxious expression reflected back from the icy glass, revealing his inner turmoil.
Wei Xieyang leaned against the glass, his breath forming a layer of mist. He traced Yue Chu's name with his finger, determination flashing in his eyes.
Yue Chu had thought the summons would take him to the patrol officers, but the flying vehicle's direction was veering off course. Modern towering buildings turned into low, densely packed structures as they flew over the countryside, and finally, they flew directly into the deep mountains.
Omega containment facility?
Yue Chu pondered, it was obvious this situation was more than just a routine summons.
"Please."
The patrol officers remained courteous, but their politeness carried a distant coldness, as if Yue Chu was no longer worthy of their attention.
The routine inspection was also very simple, just a check to see if Yue Chu had any prohibited items before they took him inside.
Yue Chu's steps halted in front of a room, where a heavy iron door was tightly closed, not even a small window in sight. This treatment didn't seem fitting for someone like him but rather more suited for a serial killer or a maniac.
