Chapter 75: Saving the World with Tea Art (8)
When chatting with Sha Su Duo, time always flew by quickly. Yue Chu looked up and noticed it was almost time to leave work, so he hurriedly bid farewell and started packing up to leave.
As he opened the door, he saw two groups of people standing face to face in the narrow corridor, and the atmosphere seemed tense.
The long corridor was covered with dark gray carpet, and the walls on both sides were painted the same color. Because there were no windows, it was always dimly lit, and even during the daytime, it required lights to see clearly.
On one side stood a mother and her son. The mother's hair was disheveled, covering half of her face, and she seemed to be afraid as she kept her head down, her fingers tightly gripping her son's shoulder, exerting so much force that her knuckles turned white, oblivious to the pain she might be causing her child.
The little boy was also a bit scared, but his eyes lit up when he saw Yue Chu. His pale face, much paler than usual, displayed the innocence of a child. He wore a black and white long-sleeved T-shirt with a cute spotted dog on the chest, and he hugged a large basketball in his arms, blinking his big black and white eyes as he smiled at Yue Chu.
Yue Chu smiled and nodded at him, then turned to look at the man on the other side.
He was an unusually tall and muscular man, standing at a towering height of 1.95 meters, his large frame blocking the entire corridor. He wasn't particularly likable, with thick eyebrows giving off a fierce and oppressive aura. Three vertical lines between his brows made his face look stern and harsh.
But what left the deepest impression were his hands. His left pinky finger was missing, leaving a smooth stump. The knuckle of his index finger was unusually large, resembling a tumor, which looked rather disgusting.
He cast a sinister glance at Yue Chu, his eyes filled with venom.
Yue Chu remained fearless, even smiling gently. His slender figure couldn't match the towering man's size, yet he stood firm like a poplar tree in the wind, calm and unwavering.
"What's the meaning of blocking the way here? I'm in a hurry, please move aside," Yue Chu said calmly.
The towering man coldly stared at him for a moment, emitting a disdainful snort from his nose, but for some reason chose to step back. His towering figure retreated until he stood by the stairs, then turned to grasp the handrail as if he were about to jump down to the lower floor.
Yue Chu raised an eyebrow slightly in surprise. Then, the towering man hesitated, looking rather frustrated, and descended from the handrail, glaring at Yue Chu fiercely before descending the stairs step by step.
Yue Chu pondered for a moment, then turned to look at the mother and her son, noticing their relief.
The little boy tightly hugged his basketball as he approached, his big eyes filled with undisguised admiration. Perhaps in his heart, Yue Chu was like a superhero from the movies, bravely driving away the villain.
Yue Chu affectionately patted the boy's head, then glanced at the mother, realizing she seemed a bit off. Although he couldn't see her face clearly, her childish actions exposed her problem.
Without asking further, he crouched down and took out a piece of White Rabbit candy from his pocket, placing it in the boy's hand.
"You're such a brave kid. Here's a reward for you," Yue Chu said with affection.
