Harry sat in his chair across from Lucius, who was sitting on the bed. The other avoided eye contact with him, and Harry wasn't sure what to say. Contrary to popular belief, dominants weren't always confident. "Lucius," Harry said softly, and the blonde looked up at him with striking silver eyes. "I don't know what to say, and I asked Draco to bring you here so we could talk. I won't reject you, so you don't have to worry about that." Harry said, and Lucius's eyes brightened.
"You won't?" He asked, sitting up a little straighter.
"No, I won't. Draco and I called a truce. I want to do the same with you. You are my mate, and I want to get to know you to make this work," Harry said, giving him a soft smile and receiving one in return.
"I would like that very much, Harry," Lucius said happily.
"What about your wife? What does she have to say about this?" Harry asked Lucius, who frowned.
"Who? Narcissa?" he asked, and Harry nodded. "Narcissa isn't my wife," Lucius said, and Harry looked at him, confused.
"My father didn't know my mother was an elf when they arranged to get married. He only found out after I went through my inheritance. He was mad, but he became angry after he found out I was a submissive, meaning I would have a male mate. He didn't want a faggot, in his family. He knew he couldn't set up contracts for me because it was against the creature law to do so. After all, we have mates. So he did the next best thing: he made a deal with the Black family, with Narcissa, and she agreed. They fed me a love potion and ensured she was the only one there when it took effect. Thank god Severus came by later that day unannounced and realized he gave me the antidote, but it was too late." Lucius said, and Harry felt anger flare within him for what they did to his mate.
"I'm sorry," he said, moving from his chair to sit on the bed next to Lucius.
"It's fine. After I found out what happened, I was pissed. A week later, she came to me telling me she was pregnant, suggesting that we should get married. I denied it and told her I had a mate and I wouldn't have my mate rejecting me for marrying someone else. I told her she could stay in Malfoy Manor, and we would raise Draco together. " Lucius told him.
"So she isn't Lady Malfoy," Harry said more to himself than to Lucius.
"No, though she has confessed her undying love many times. The agreement was that she would return to Black Manor as soon as I found my mate." Lucius said, and Harry smiled at him.
"Good. Then how about we do dinner this weekend? We could talk some more," Harry suggested, and Lucius nodded. "Good, now you can sleep in here with me if you want. I can split the bed in two, or I can require another room for you," Harry said, and Lucius shook his head.
"I would like to sleep with you if that's ok," Lucius said shyly, and Harry smiled.
He went to his closet, pulled out a pair of PJs, and handed them to long blonde hair. "I'm going to take a shower; I came here straight from the ministry," Lucius said, getting up and exiting the room.
When he came back a few minutes later, dressed in soft sleeping clothes, Harry had already changed his clothes and was under the covers, leaning back against the headboard. He looked up and smiled when he saw his hesitant mate standing at the edge of the bed. He reached out his hand, and Lucius slowly placed his softer hand in Harry's.
The dominant pulled him to the bed and helped him under the covers. He lay on his side and pulled the taller man closer, burying his face in his neck and inhaling deeply. "Night, Lucius."
"Goodnight, Harry."
