Harry woke in the middle of the night in the guest room at Malfoy Manor. After their date, it was late, and Lucius suggested he stay the night in the guest room.
He rose slightly, looking out the tall ceiling-to-floor window. Harry laid back down, closing his eyes and seeing it was still dark.
A few seconds later, he heard the door to his bedroom open and close and soft steps coming close to his bed, the scent of his mate filling his lungs.
Harry felt the sheets lift and the bed dip. He heard shuffling, and soon, a body pressed against his back.
Smiling to himself, Harry turned over and wrapped his arms around his mate, burying his nose in his mate's soft hair and dozing off to sleep.
When Harry woke again, he was alone, the smell of his mate lingering on the sheets, and he sighed.
He climbed out of bed and went to the bathroom. After taking care of business, he exited and dressed in the clothes waiting for him on the bed.
He exited the room and headed down the stairs to the kitchen, where Lucius sat at the table, sipping coffee and reading the paper.
"Morning, mate," Harry said softly as he approached the blonde.
Lucius looked up at him with a blush, smiling as Harry kissed his hair. "Have you eaten yet?" Harry asked, and Lucius shook his head.
"I was waiting for you," Lucius said, and Harry smiled.
He sat in the chair across from his mate, and food appeared on the table.
"Tom should be here around lunch," Lucius said when he was almost finished eating.
"OK, I had hoped Remus, Sirius, and Draco could be here, but Dumbledor is keeping a close eye on us, so I didn't want them to come in case they were being tracked," Harry said, and Lucius nodded.
"What do you want to do until then? We could go to the library or walk in the garden. There's a pond, and there are some wood creatures that come out now and then. Some even let you feed them and...umm..." Lucius trailed off as he looked up to see Harry staring at him across the table. "Unless you want to spend some time alone, I..." he began but stopped when a hand took his.
"I would love to spend time with you, Lucius. It's just strange seeing you talking so freely. Other times we've met, you were..." Harry said but trailed off, not wanting to finish if he insulted the blonde.
"Posh, uptight, and an arsehole," Lucius finished for him with a small chuckle and Harry nodded.
"It's how I was raised; I was raised to be cold and distant from everyone, even my family. I tried not to be that way with Draco. But we still have our moments." Lucius told him, and Harry hummed.
"Why don't we go to the library? We can talk and learn more about each other," Harry suggested, standing up, moving around the table, and reaching out his hand to his mate.
Lucius took his hand and stood from his chair, leading Harry out of the room and towards the library. He opened the door and left Harry to sit by the window.
He went to sit, but Harry pulled his arm, stopping him. He gave the dome a confused look, but Harry just smiled and sat down before pulling Lucius into his lap, making the man blush.
"So tell me, who is Lucius Malfoy?" Harry said, wrapping his hand around his waist and pulling him closer.
