It was Friday evening and I was at the supermarket doing some small grocery shopping for my apartment. Tonight was steak & potato night and nice chill glass of wine, and for Sunday is lasagna with a beautiful Caesar salad as you can bet Saturday is take out. So I was in the meat aisle and was debating on which steak I should get to cook.

Hari: " Damn which one is the best one"

??: " Rib eye of course if the best one"

I turned my head to the voice that made that comment and to my surprise was someone who I have not seen in a very long time.

Hari: " Wait!... oh my gosh is that you C.J. Stroud?"

CJ: " The one and only that can get you to eat mushrooms"

I was cheesing so freaking hard I walked over to him and gave him a friendly hug. Okay so back story right? CJ and I were best friends in high school from my sophomore year all the way up to when we graduated college. We lost contact a while back due to our busy schedules, but I would always see him on tv because he is a famous quarterback football player who plays for the Houston Texans. We used to have a lot of fun back in the day, but little does CJ know that I had a crush on him but was afraid to say anything due to our friendship. We both pulled away from the hug and began to make small chat.

Hari : " Wow I can't believe I am seeing you here, how long has it been? And how are you?"

I said now grabbing the rib eye steak and placing it into the cart

CJ: " I don't know, maybe six or seven years now, and I have been doing pretty good, how about yourself?"

Hari: "I've been well I am a teacher now for kindergarten and even though at times it can be exhausting nothing is more rewarding then having my students thank me for pushing them"

We were now checking out all of our items at the checkout counter. I swiped my card and paid for everything. I waited for CJ to meet me at the front once I saw him. We were now walking out from the store.

CJ: " That's awesome I know you love children and I know that education has always played a big part in your life, this you?"

We were now in front of my Midnight Black 2024 Toyota Camry TRD V6

Hari: " Yes, thank you so much for following me to my car.

I unlocked my car trunk and placed all my items into the back. Once I was done I locked it back and turned my attention back to CJ he's really grown into a beautiful man whew.

Hari: " So quarterback huh?"

CJ: " Yup"

Hari: " I am really proud of you, your living your dream"

CJ: " Kinda"

I raised my eyebrow in question.

CJ: " Yes I am living my dream but I don't have anyone to share it with"

I understood what he meant now,however I was surprised that he didn't have a girlfriend.

Hari: " I um.. I know the feeling when I come home I don't have anyone to welcome me"

We stood there silent for about 5 minutes until I had an idea.

Tiah: "Hey CJ, um.. If you're not busy tonight, would you maybe like to come over to my place for a home cooked meal if not then I understand."
