The bus was empty besides Sam, she sat in the back with her headphones plugged in. She admired the mountains, Sam always appreciated the small things in nature.

Sam turned to her phone and looked one more time at the message josh sent to her. It was better than listening to the reports on Hannah and Beth's dissapearence.

She clicked play, and watched. She watched as Josh playfully introduced himself, he seemed alot better than he was a few months ago, maybe the medicine was being helpful.

It hurt Sam knowing Hannah and Beth were missing, it hurt everybody. But Josh? His pain must be unimaginable.

The bus drove away from the stop Sam was destined for, she looked up at the sign which read "BLACKWOOD PINES".

Now she just has to get over to the lodge, and see her friends together again.

But, she did text Josh a lot over the period the group was divided. They were close, Sam did her best to help him.

Sam began to wall up the trail, an eery vibe from behind her but she brushed it off as nothing.

A few moments later a small squirrel approached her in the middle of the trail, Sam reached into her pocket for any food. Luckily, she had An acorn. She was prepared to see animals at anytime.

She knelt down and fed the squirrel, staying extra still as to not spook it. Once the squirrel grabbed the acorn, it scurried off into the forest once more.

After a short walk up the trail, the first cablecar station was in sight. She walked up to the bench, before her eyes caught onto a bag.

"Chris..?" Sam looked around for the boy, recognizing his bag. "You're not in the bag, are you?" Sam joked.

One of the zippers were open on the bag, and his phone tilted out of it. Sam took one last look around, still no Chris in sight.

Chris' phone screen lit up, and it began to vibrate. He was getting a call from someone, the name started with an A. But she couldn't get a better look from the point the phone was out, she would have to grab and look.

SNOOP

IGNORE

"I shouldn't poke around in Chris' stuff.. who knows what he has." Sam mumbled as she closed the zipper.

"Sam!" A voice called from behind her.

Sam turned to see Chris standing there with a smile, giving her a wave.

"Hey, how have you been?" Chris started.

"I'm good, nice to see you again."

"Okay- so," Chris grabbed his bag and slinged it around his shoulder, "There's this shooting range behind the cablecar station here, and it may or may not he the coolest thing ever?"

"Shooting range? On this private mountain? Nobody's home, what the point?"

"Sam- have you seen Josh's dad? He thinks he's like grizzly adams or something.."

Chris had a point, but at the same time Sam has only seen Josh's dad like twice in her whole life.

Chris walked Sam to the side of the cablecar station and around, turning the corner to see the Shooting range.

"Ta-daa!" Chris showcased the place off.

Chris and Sam walked up to the table, where a shotgun was layed out.

"Watch and learn." Chris said, picking up the gun and flexing.

"As if." Sam teased.

Chris saw the targets which were set, including beer cans and hanging bags of sand. He corrected his posture and aimed the gun for a beer can, Shooting it.

"Nice shootin' tex." Sam complimented

Chris smiled and shot for one of the sand bags and then back down for another can.

"Alright, I'm bad! I'm bad, I'm a badass!" Chris did a small dance and sam rolled her eyes.

"Anybody and their brother could hit a bottle that big, that close."

Chris accepted Sam's challenge, and looked for a new target. A squirrel hopped onto a barrel next to a beer bottle, a perfect target.

Chris moved the nozzle towards the squirrel, taking aim. But was this really humane? Shooting a squirrel like this? Also Sam was like a foot away, she would be pissed If Chris did this.

SHOOT

MERCY

Chris gave up on the squirrel, and just shot another sand bag.

"Come on, we should head back." Sam said.

"Right, okay." Chris sat the gun down as the two left.

As they went back around the cablrcar station, a poster caught chris' attention. A wanted poster.

Jessica sat on a bench attached to the second cable car station, she sighed and patted her knees as she stood up.

"New people, time to meet and greet."

Jessica held her letter for Mike in one hand, leaving a free one. She walked towards the cablecar front door, only for the window to project light right In her face, with sam standing right there tryna peek inside.

Jessica was shooken up, she held her hand over her chest as she sighed in relief, yet annoyance.

"Hey, Jessica! The doors locked from the inside, do you mind opening it?" Sam said.

Jessica walked up to the buzzer which unlocked/locked the door, hitting it so it switched green.

The door opened and out came Sam and Chris, both relieved to be out the station.

"Another 10 minutes in there and I think I would have chewed off my own leg." Chris said while playing with his backpack.

"Eww Chris!" Sam said.

Chris chuckled and walked around a bit, before noticing the letter Jessica was holding. He quickly grabbed it.

"Phwoop!" Chris snatched the letter and held it up to his face.

"Hey, give it!" Jessica said, stepping forever to reach for the letter.

Chris only held it higher than Jessica's height, than began to read the front.

"Well, Well, Well.. looks like Jessica here has a crush on our good friend class president Micheal Munroe.."

"Give it back you dip!" Jessica reached out once again, but to no avail.

Jessica stepped backwards and frowned.

"Mike and I are.. together, now. I guess you would have figured out sooner or later."

"Woah, how's that going?" Chris said.

"Em's out, I'm in. Really simple, actually. Now give me that back."

Jessica held her hand out for the envelope and Chris gave it to her.

"You guys just, go up the trail. I'm gonna wait for anybody else who's gonna come."

"You mean Mike?" Chris teased with a playful voice.

"I- just go up the trail!"
