I was in the great hall, enjoying my coffee at breakfast while talking with Pansy, Lorenzo and Tom when suddenly dumblewhor- I mean, dumbledore got up from the teachers table to announce something. "All students from years 4 to 8, us teachers have been talking about a ball, but not any ball it is supposed to be called a masquerade ball. If you would like to participate the time is at dinner is the great hall in 4 days, thank you and enjoy your meals."
Dumbledore sat back down and I turned to Enzo, "what is a masquerade ball?" He asked. "I believe it's when you attend a ball and while wearing a mask that can cover the identity of you." I explained, suddenly I turn to my best friend, who I have had a crush on for a while now, " I will not go to a stupid muggle ball, dumbledore has gone sane!" Tom exaggerated "sane" I let out a laugh, his face then softened, "Are you going y/n?" I nodded. "Ok then I'm coming."
4 days later, I was getting ready for the masquerade ball.

I already felt increasingly beautiful, I looked at my dark green dress in the mirror, I then did my hair down and straightened it. Wow. I put on my heels and then finally put on my mask.

I looked in the mirror once again, I could barely recognise myself. I then heard a knock on my door, I opened it to see pansy in a beautiful light green dress that reached up to her knees, It had a V shaped neck line and it was plain, no designs but was still stunning! "You look-" I was about to say but suddenly I got cut off by Pansy. "DON'T TALK ABOUT ME LOOK AT YOU, YOUR GORGEOUS." She gushed. "Thank you you look stunning." I smile.
We were at the great hall, I looked at everyone and I didn't know who anyone was, except pansy of course. I then spotted almost all the men older and younger that me staring, I hate being the centre of attention. Suddenly a man looking about 1 year older than me approaching me, indeed he did look very handsome. "Would you mind if I had this dance." He took out his hand. My heart started to pound and I saw his Adams apple bob. "Yes I would love to." I smiled as he took my hand into his and walked us to the dance floor.
I put my hands around his neck as he took my waist, I would be bluffing if I said I wasn't looking like a tomato now. We danced to the song, "At last" by Etta James. As we danced I looked at his facial features, trying to figure out who this man is. His sharp jawline stood out and his small light pink lips that looked admiringly kissable. He looked familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it.
Tom's POV
I looked at the most beautiful girl that I had ever laid my eyes on, I looked at her y/e/c eyes and her lips. She looked awfully familiar, oh well let me just enjoy this moment. I danced with happiness, I hoped this was y/n because I had to admit I have had a crush on her for a damn while. Merlin this girl looked like a spiritual goddess that had been crafted by the angels of the lord himself.
Y/n's POV
The song soon ended and the next song played, me and the mysterious man got off the dance floor, he went to go get us drinks as I spotted Pansy walking over to me. "Y/n OMG who was that?!" I laughed, "How do I know?" "IDC but I think he is perfect for you girl!" I let out a giggle as I thought about the man, I still couldn't recognise who he was but I know I know him. I then saw Raven (I got sick of saying man or him so Raven is his code name) come back with 2 glasses of wine, I smiled as I took the fancy glass out of his hand, "Thank you," "Your welcome." He smirked and I felt something in my stomach. "You know after this whole ball thing, I think we should go and take off our masks." I said hoping he would agree. "Okay sound well enough for me." I let out a sigh, I couldn't wait for that. I bobbed my head slightly to the music now playing "feeling good" by Micheal bublé.

I smiled at the main chorus, I fucking loved this song. I saw Raven talking to a guy but then when he saw me looking at him he ushered the guy away.
Tom's POV
I was talking to Theodore as I saw phoenix (code name for y/n) looking at me so I stopped with him and focused on her. I fixed my green mask as she blushed. I was still waiting for this stupid ball to end so I could see her face, oh now I would love it.
Y/n's POV
It was finally the end of the ball. I saw Raven coming towards me, "May I escort you to the astronomy tower." I nodded and took his hand that fit in mine like a perfect puzzle piece. We soon reached up to the tower and stood there for a while until I suddenly took my mask off, I felt free but then I hesitated to look up at the man in front of me but I finally did and he looked shocked, "Y-y-y/n?" He stuttered but then took his mask off, it felt like it was in slow motion, it was...Tom? "T-t-Tom?" I then did something that the past me would slap me for, I kissed him. It felt like I was floating in heaven. I was indeed heavenly. Our lips moved in sync and then we finally pulled apart gasping for air. "I'm sorry." I whispered, Tom then looked at me and said, "Uhm wanna be my...girlfriend..." he spoke his words careful. My eyes brightened and I leaned in to kiss him again. "I'll take that as a yes."
