Eliza physically thought it was impossible to miss someone so much. She never even missed her own parents all these years in Hogwarts, and she missed her lover despite seeing him every day.

It was not like the rest of her life was going smoothly to make her feel better.

She lost interest in Professor Lupin's class, Snape nowadays was absolutely torture. She kept messing up Transfiguration. Charms was barely manageable. Herbology was on a path to disaster, and the additional subjects added nothing but more stress.

It was like without Percy, her entire life was falling apart.

"Has something happened between you two?" Claire asked one day as the two girls found themselves alone with each other in the courtyard.

Eliza bit her bottom lip and then sighed. "I... don't know." She admitted. "One moment I was teasing him and then the next... everything fell apart."

"Have you talked to him?" Claire asked.

Eliza just stared ahead, carefully forming her words so that she wouldn't start spilling tears.

"He won't even look at me." She said sadly.

"Should I beat him up?" Claire suggested with a grin.

Eliza gave a short laugh.

"I'm sure James and Rehan will beat him up." Claire said.

"Yeah, no thanks." Eliza shook her head. "But, speaking of..."

"What is going on with you and James?" Eliza asked, grinning.

"What do you mean?" Claire questioned.

"Oh, come on! Don't be dumb with me!" Eliza said, exclaiming. "You both told each other that you loved each other, after that what!?"

Claire rolled her eyes, smiling. "So? You love James platonically, don't you?"

Eliza raised a brow. "But your love isn't the same."

Claire blushed slightly. "Oh, alright. We're not together officially."

"But...?" Eliza grinned.

"I don't know! We're waiting, I guess." Claire shrugged.

"For what?" Eliza asked.

She shrugged again and then sighed.

"Have you guys kissed?" Eliza asked again, smirking.

She could see Claire's face heating up, "I – uh – not yet, no."

"You're such a liar." Eliza called her out.

"I'm not! We actually have not kissed yet!" Claire said, blushing profusely.

"And why not?" Eliza asked again.

Claire groaned in frustration, "I have no idea, Eliza. Not a single clue. I guess we've buried our feelings too long, and now this feels too new."

Eliza patted her shoulder comfortingly. "Give it time."

Time. Something that was running away, making her father from Percy.

For the first time, Eliza walked through Hogsmeade alone. The beautiful village that was lively with students packed everywhere did nothing to lift her spirits.

Right now, the last time she was here, she was near the Shrieking Shack with Percy. Enjoying her time. These few days leading to October were pretty much horrible because there wasn't a day she spent without missing him.
