Chapter 4. Questions and much more

"Is he really Kai? The last time we saw him, he had charged with murder.."
The ninjas watch the supposedly dead ninja slowly walk towards the giant machinery. The giant machinery swung its arms nearly hitting Kai. Kai leaped backwards dodging it with ease, landing on the roof of the monastery. Running swiftly, he jumped across the training ground and ran up the giants arm. Using the rope, he wrapped it around the arm of the giant and held onto it, continuing jumping and pulling on the rope. The ninjas were standing there watching with astonished faces, realizing that they can't just stand there. There was the last troops of armies still around. It was full chaos as the battle waged on. As the giant swing his arm, Kai jumped a good 20 feet into the air and landing on the arm. Running up from the arms and sprinting towards the head, Kai used his twin blades to slash the giant, barely making marks on it. Eyes shining, he suddenly took out a pack of dynamites and threw it at the giant while on top of it. Summoning fire, the fire activated the dynamites creating huge explosions. Confusing the giant, the weak point was exposed and Kai took both of his swords and stabbed it. This ultimately killed the giant, turning it into dust and fading away. Landing gracefully, Kai released full hell and swept all the remaining soldiers away with fiery water. This did not harmed the ninjas but did damage a ton of dark soldiers. The ninjas were confused but relieved that the threat was gone for now. The ninjas began to walk towards Kai.
"Well..uhh there you guys go! I'll be going now-ehh??"
Weapons were pointed at Kai. Kai continued to smile but with confusion, sweat rolling down his face.
"We have questions you have to answer."

In a random but secure room in the monastery, Pixal and Zane was on the cams surveying the room in case anything happened, Kai was handcuffed to the chair after agreeing to the terms, Lloyd, Cole, Nya, and Jay all faced Kai on the other side of the table. Kai having a slight smirk on his face made the room awkward and uncomfortable.
"Ahem.. anyways, we have questions and you had agreed to the terms to answer them. Answer them truthfully because Zane can identify lies and untrustworthy." Lloyd explained the rules and regulations.
Kai knowing this can act truthfully even if it was a lie but decided to stay truthful.
"Who are you..?"
"Aw cmon you guys don't know who your old teammate is?"
Lloyd not seeming amuse, Kai decided to drop the joke.
"Alright. I'm not human."
Lloyd looked at Zane through the cams. Zane voice was heard as he confirmed it was the truth. Lloyd not believing this looked at Kai in disbelief but only got a dead cold stare back. Nya also confirmed this but didn't provide any other information or details. Jay and Cole stared back coldly.
"Can you like, idk, provide us with more details."
"That I cannot do."
Refusing to answer jays questions, Kai still had the same harsh stare as he denied an answer.
"WAIT- that's not right, you agreed to answer every question."
Lloyd put a hand on jays shoulder calming him down as Kai just smiled with amusement.
"I did. It was an answer just not to your expectations."
The air tensed as a second questions was asked.
"Where did you get your powers from?"
"Training."
Deciding not question the answer. The process was simple.
"Truth."
"What's garmadons next plan?"
"It depends."
"Truth"
"What is your relationship with Polly?"
"Dunno, she worked with Garmadon, but she's dead. Unsure."
"Truth."
"Wait.. what do you mean unsure if she's dead?"
"Garmadon can revive his subjects, if they are to his use."
"Truth"
As more questions answer, there seems to be more questions than answers, until..
"How do you know so much about Garmadon?"
"That I cannot tell."
Suspicion risen as another answer was hidden.
"Why did you betray us?"
"It was part of the plan."
"What plan?"
"Oh~ did Nya not tell you?"
Nya looked away guiltily.
"I thought you didn't want them knowing until the end of the war.."
Kai laughed dryly in amusement.
"I'll just you guys if you want to know, or do you want to tell them Nya?"
Nya turned around.
"So basically, this plan was to trick Garmadon or throw him off of our road. Kai and me made this all up. Plan, make Polly join our team, we predicted she will try to kill or make the team go against Kai at some point but then found out she somehow hacked Zane. So this made our plan B, Kai go manic and gets killed. So as the events play through, we are here today.."
"Wait but how is Kai alive?"
Lloyd looked at Kai but he was just holding in laughter.
"You guys really think one gunshot will kill me?"
"Is that why, Nya, you took a time to bury him. You were just healing him?"
Nya nodded.
"But apparently Garmadon saw through this but also managed to confuse him so Kai came early to help us."
"Zane?"
"Those are all truths"
"So it was just all a plan.. why did you two not warn us.?"
"Jay is bad at acting"
Kai glared at Jay while laughing.
"One mistake and it will be over for us, Garmadon would have attacked earlier, if I hadn't died. He was waiting for our weakest moments which was grieving over me."
"Truth"
Jay tried his best to smile back at Kai while he was steaming with anger. Kai looked back with evil amusement.
"Why does everyone want you dead?"
"Isn't it obvious? People want me dead because of the power I hold. Revenge, power, or simply because why not."
"Truth"
After gathering all the answers they had determined that the questions were over. Kai was let go and was either voted to join the team back or resigned his spot properly.
"What do you want to do kai?" Nya asked Kai hoping he would rejoin the team.
"Whatever you guys decide, I don't really care. Though do please consider I have no where to live if you guys resign me." Kai didn't looked desperate or anything he just looked a little bit somber. Eventually the votes were in and it was a tie. 3-3. Nya, Lloyd and Jay voted on Kai while Cole, Zane, and Pixal voted to resign Kai. Kai plopped down on the couch and yelled at them to call for him when they decided before falling asleep. Nya had voted for Kai because she was his sister while Jay following his GF. Lloyd figured that Kai's power would be great use against Garmadon if even his father fear the fire master. Cole didn't trust betrayal while Zane and Pixal didn't have enough evidence to bring Kai back to the team. Clearing his acts and evil doings can be difficult and can cause a riot. Kai was still sleeping when Wu came into the room from visiting the movies.
"WU!"
After nearly fainting from getting called out, Wu got caught up with the recent events and also spotted Kai on the couch.
"You are too concerned with what was and what will be. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery but today is a gift. That is why it's called the present."
As Wu was rambling, the ninjas were confused af.
"You understand this crap?"
"Nah- oh hey Kai."
Nya had taken that way too normally as Kai was too quiet when awaken.
"Ah hello Kai, would you like to join our team as the fire master?"
Wu put a hand on Kai's shoulder.
"Eh..- really Wu?? Yeah sure I'll join."
Wu then turned back around to face the rest of the team.
"There you go, be ready for the next battle. Train hard. Kai, you take role."
"What? I didn't agree to this!"
