(It's very early in the morning but I meant to put these two parts up this past weekend and I got too busy to do so)
(Ellie's POV)
The scent of strawberries and something delicious wafted into my room, waking me from sleep. I looked at my phone on my bedside table and noted it was after 9am... damn I slept late. I looked to see a text from Sonja, telling me to take my time coming in. I sighed, ran my hands over my face before sitting up and rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
I finally managed to pull myself together and get out of bed. I grabbed some clothes and headed for the bathroom to shower. It was a much needed shower, the hot water seemed to relax my muscles and my head was cleared of all the fog. I finished washing, drying, and dressing before heading back into the bedroom. I tossed my towel and pajamas into the hamper and went out to see what the smell was coming from. As soon as I opened the door there was a thick scent of something yummy, the strawberries and something like bread were the heaviest scents.
I stepped lightly along the carpeted hall and stepped over the threshold of the Kitchen and living room open space. The wooden floor felt cool on my bare feet as I lightly stepped. There he was, back turned to me as he seemed to be cooking something over the stove. I tried to tip toe over to the breakfast counter where there were some croissants resting on a plate, they looked so buttery and fluffy. My mouth was watering. I went to reach for one as I took a seat on one of the stools carefully.... And I was sadly caught.
"Don't you even think about it, miss." He said so nonchalauntly, like it he was breathing it without thinking. He knew I was there.
"What are you making all this for?" I asked. Curious as to why he was up early and making food.
"Well..." He slowly turned around, fry pan in hand with what looked like a veggie omelet that had been neatly folded and was ready for plating. He slid the omelet onto an empty plate and looked back at me.
"I owe a very pretty lady an apology. I'm kind of hoping we could talk... after we get you and baby some food." He said, looking a bit lower near where my baby bump was peaking over the the counter as I sat straight. I slouched, for some reason, wanting to hide it from his eyes... I didn't know why. Maybe it was a fear I might make him mad again.
"Okay." I replied, it's all I could think to say at that moment. He looked at me, just stared for a few moments before he seemed to shake his head and turn back around. He plated a second omelet onto another plate. This one had a lot more to it, and had some strange sauce in it. He saw me oogling this omelet and lightly chuckled.
"Not for you, little mama. This is way too spicy for baby, and If we're going to talk seriously about this, I don't want to have my first move be rushing you to the hospital because I've put the baby at risk." He said, setting both fry pans back on the stove while he finished plating some fruit and a croissant on each plate.
"And this is also for you." He put a cup of oatmeal topped yogurt right on the plate, nestled between the croissant and the omelet. He slid my plate over to me, grabbed his plate and came around the counter, taking the spot next to me. He looked at me, then my plate.
"Well? Let me know how it is." He said, encouraging me to dive in. I didn't waste another moment and delved right into the omelet. Eggs had bothered me at the beginning... but recently I had been wanting scrambled eggs. These eggs were fluffy, cheesy.... So cheesy and filled with various veggies that just made it taste even better somehow. We ate silently, only little sounds of how good the food was escaped us in that time. Jungkook was definitely a lover of food, like Jin he had little sounds he'd make now and then while he ate. I found it endearing and kind of cute. Despite the man he appeared to be... and how he comes off... and all the talk of how he's not a good person and not reliable, he seemed so different when it was just us most of the time.
When our plates were cleared, Jungkook started to clean up. I got up, not finding it fair that I shouldn't help. He made the food, the least I could do was help clean up.
