Suffering's End

The Hospital lights were bright. I'd been checked over again and nothing major was wrong. They gave me some water and a little IBuprofen for the little pain I did have and they let me stay by Jungkook. They were running some tests and waiting to take him for x rays. When the everyone else showed up I met them out in the waiting room.

"Ellie!" Sonjia ran to me and hugged me tightly. I smiled and welcomed the hug.

"Where is he?" I asked, Jin stepped forward and smiled.

"We're so glad you're okay." He said as he smiled down at my precious little boy in his arms.

"Aww, Did you miss mommy?" I cooed as I took him from Jin's arms. Jin smiled again and nodded.

"Of course he did. He missed you lots, and his daddy. But Auntie Sonjia was fun.... Right little man?" Sonjia chuckled a little.

"Speaking of, how is he?" Yoongi asked. Jimin and Tae looked at me expectantly.

"He's okay... I mean, they don't think anything too bad is wrong. Maybe a cracked rib." I said, unsure myself. "They're doing some bloodwork, to see... um, but also we're waiting for the x ray room, they're going to take him up and see if he did break anything." I explained as I held my son close to me, kissing the top of his head a few times. I didn't want to let this precious boy go.
"I should get back and see if they're taking him to get x rays yet." I said as I turned to JIn. "You should come, you're his brother and I know he'll want to see you." I said to him. He smiled and nodded, gave a hug and kiss to his wife and followed me back to the hospital room. He was silent the whole way and I knew he must have had a lot on his mind.
As we got back to the room the nurses were in there unhooking him from the IV.

"Is he going for X Rays?" I asked and the older woman of the two looked up at me and nodded.

"Yep, we're all set. The X- Rays shouldn't take too long." She replied as they both unlocked the wheels on the bed and began to move him a little.

"Jin?" Jungkook said groggily, his voice sounding slightly strained.

"I'm right here buddy. We're all waiting for you. Once we figure out if you're all clear, we'll go home and I'll make you some seaweed soup. Sound good?" Jin asked his younger brother as he hend his hand for a moment.

"Sounds great... watch over Ellie and Jay for me." Jungkook said as he closed his eyes for a moment.

"Will do brother." Jin replied and Jungkook smiled. They rolled him out the door and down the hall to the left. I sat down in the nearest chair and tried not to cry. I knew he'd be okay... but I still worried.

"Everything will be fine Ellie. Kook might have some bruised bones... he might have a broken one, they'll reset it, he'll go home, he'll have to take it easy and I know you'll see to that. All of this is over." Jin said, trying to sooth me in some way.

"It's far from over.... The Hoffs can pay bail. They'll be back out there in a few hours tops. And I'll have to hide somewhere with Jay once Jungkook is better. They won't stop... this is how it is with them." I said to Jin, sighing deeply at this whole situation. I couldn't see a way out of it.

"No. This ends now. I'm not having anyone come after my family any more." Jin was stern, I looked up at him and he wasn't smiling, he wasn't sad or somber... he looked.... Pissed. I watched as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He tapped at his screen and then held the phone to the side of his face.
He started speaking in Korean. I knew because I'd heard him and Jungkook speak the language quite a bit, and when he and his wife were talking on occasion they'd speak Korean.
I could pick up some words but not many. And I certainly couldn't piece them together. He was on the phone for about five minutes before he looked at me, said my name and Jay's into the phone and something else, then he hung up.
