"Nithya nee yenna nanachitu irruka?",Deepti stalks into class and snaps at her. Her face was twisted in anger and hatred glittered in her eyes.[Nithya, what do you think of yourself?]
Nithya looked up shocked before shaking her head, "Ippo na yenna pannen?"
[What did I do now?]
"Yenna pannale? Na annaiku sonnadhu puriyila? I told you to stay away from Gautham.", Deepti grits out.
[What didn't you do? Didn't you understand what I said that day? I told you to stay away from Gautham.]
"I did not do anything. I have always been respectful and friendly.", Nithya replied but her words tasted bitter as if she was lying. She did like him a lot, despite him being in a relationship. Everytime she talked to him she could feel her feelings taunting her at the back of her mind. Doesn't mean she would ever force her feelings on him. Heck, he doesn't even know.
"You're a snake, you know that? You're so desperate for his attention, that you try talking to him again and again. Na unna first day la irundhu pakuren. Yennaku unna anila irundhe pudikala. And when I am finally happy in the relationship, you try talking to him in hopes that he'll like you. But the fact is that he'll never like a desperate, obsessive and cheap girl like you-", Deepti seethes only to be cut off.
[You're a snake, you know that? You're so desperate for his attention, that you try talking to him again and again. I am seeing you since the first day and I don't like you since then. Because when I am finally happy in the relationship, you try talking to him in hopes that he'll like you. But the fact is that he'll never like a desperate, obsessive and cheap girl like you-]
"Shut up. You know nothing about me.", Nithya states, her voice breaking as her eyes mist. She gets up before rushing out of class.
She walks straight to the washroom, her tears fall faster and she rushes in banging the door shut. She splashes water on her face, successfully washing of the years. However the redness of her eyes remain, giving her a sad and forlorn look. She sighed thinking she looked apt for the situation. The guy she liked doesn't like her back and his girlfriend thinks she's trying to steal him. She laughs mirthlessly and rummages in her pocket for her phone. She unlocks it and dials her mother's number.
"A-amma", Nithya's voice breaks slightly as she calls out to her mom, once she picks the phone call.
"Nithu ma? Yenna kanna achu? Azhuriya?", her mom asks, concern seeping into her voice.
[Nithu? What happened sweetheart? Are you crying?]
Nithya pauses for a few seconds taking a deep breath before speaking, "Adha lam illa ma. Konjam study tension aprom Inga vera problems, adhu nalla stress ah irruku."
[No, nothing like that. It's just exam tension and a fee other problems here. That's why I'm stressed.]
"Nithu nee kelambu vituku va konja naal. Un mind uh clear ana maari irrukum. Aprom final exams munadi oru vaati veetuku vandhutu pona madriyum irrukum.", her mother demands.
[Nithu you come home for a few days. You'll clear your head and you'll also be home once before the exam.]
Nithya sighs before responding, "Seri na nalaiku varen. Bus ticket book pannirnga."
[Ok fine, I'll come tomorrow. Book the bus tickets.]
"Seri ma", her mother says before cutting the call.
[Okay ma.]
Nithya hurried to her and announced she was going home.
"That's nice. But are you fine?", Pooja questions carefully observing Nithya's face. Nithya struggled to keep her poker face, but she succeeded when Pooja looked away not realising something was wrong.
