3. Lost

I woke up to beams of light showering my room.

I sit up in my bed nearly forgetting where I was, I slowly remember what happened yesterday and I turn to look through the window that was pouring light.

I sat and enjoyed the quiet. Looking at the sunrise atop a bed of evergreens. Creating a sea of green, orange and red. I look at the clock. 6:47 Am

It was early.

My feet hit the cold hardwood floors. I walk and open the door.

No one seems to be awake yet. I walk down the halls to go use the bathroom

After I finish I walk back. noticing the door at the end is left ajar. Curiosity got the best of me as I took a peek inside.

A grand forest as large as the eyes could see was behind the door, I stood confused. A room this size shouldn't hold something this large. I walk in, very much interested in what this place is.

I take a couple steps inside, to my far left I can hear music. Soothing music. I walk towards it wondering what this room is. I walked for a while, the music got louder as I got closer.

I stopped to see a bluetooth speaker sitting on a rock. At the base of the rock was a notebook and a couple of pencils and paints. No one was around, I wonder who this belongs to?

"Hey!"

I jumped and looked behind me. It was Alice, she wore black silk pajama pants and a baggy graphic tee. Her glasses were off and she had her hair tied in a messy bun.

"Sorry i didn't mean to intrude, the door was open and i-"

"It's fine really, it's actually good you're here" she says whilst squinting.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I was up meditating and I set my glasses somewhere in here. Now I can't find 'em, do you think you can help me?"

"Oh uh sure"

"I have a hard time seeing without them and my sister, paprika and Ragana are asleep"

"Paprika?"

"Yeah this is his room, hes sleeping in one of those trees over there"

I looked up to see a giant owl nestled in a branch, it was gray with red flecks peppered in its feathers.

"Hes huge"

"He was my moms before"

"How old is he?"

"I think about 36? My mom hatched him when she was around ten"

"And he's still alive?"

"Well he's a familiar, his lifespan was enhanced by magic...I think i left my glasses somewhere near my art stuff if you can take a look for me"

"Oh yeah Of course"

Next to the rock was a desk with much more art supplies, I looked through not seeing anything.

"Where else could you have lost it?"

"Well I just went to my room to see if i left it there, and then i walked back here. These were the only two places i've been to"

"Hm"

I look around everywhere as Alice stands squinting.

"Find anything?" she yells
