Grid dinners were very rare events. And this one, it was more rare with the fact this one was in Jeddah, and plus ones could attend. I just feel bad for whoever called in and asked for a table of that many.

I watched everyone move into their groups.

Pierre, Yuki and Daniel were judging the entrees up close dramatically, Pierre and Daniel mocking Yuki taking out his phone and zooming in to every detail.

Max, Carlos, Oscar and Charles were beside me around a cocktail table, sipping a variety of who knows what. Max was tipsy, since Charles and Carlos were feeding him a variety of drinks and giving me a variety of random mocktails (they ordered six different juices and sodas and began mixing them together in shot glasses). I was talking to Oscar while they fed me a variety of who knows what.

Lance and Esteban sat in silence next to each other on their phones. Lance was always the anti-social kid, and while I was standing with Max looking at lance disappointedly.

Lando, Tamera, Alex, Lily, Carmen and George were chatting on and on, all six of them loved each other and they were laughing on and on with champagne in the arms of a drunk Lando who had also dragged Lena over. They were on their fourth drink (Lena and Lando), laughing about while Charles longingly gazed at my best friend.

Lewis, Valtteri and Fernando were looking at photos on their phones, comparing shots of their trips over the years. Lewis looked fabulous in a cream jacket and pants set.

Kevin and Nico just sat already at the table. They always seemed to stay together.

Kelly, Sara and Kika were sipping a variety of cocktails which I didn't recognise, as I was only eighteen. Although in most countries, the drinking law was eighteen, including my home country, I've chosen to only drink until I'm nineteen, which is the drinking law for where I was raised, in Yukon, even though Montreal's is eighteen and Belgium's is sixteen. It's not really a pressure for me, since drinking is just a treat in the diet for me, even if I did drink. I also followed Lance's steps in drinking, since he only began to drink at nineteen.

I think our childhood made a dent on the way we live pretty majorly. I was three when Lance started racing, eleven when Dad got him into Williams (I had just started), so I lived a life in a combination of proud sister and underdog racer. Along the way of travelling the world with my hesitant dad and brother while competing at home, I've learnt English, French, Tagalog, Dutch, Italian, and I've began studying for a Bachelor of Mathematics. Studying for my degree has taken heaps of pressure off driving for the current best team of Formula 1. Driving second seat for RedBull and feeling the pressure to be the second best and support the team is not very comfortable to I found a lot of comfort studying and having my best friend by my side.
