More than half of Kayatsya's soldiers have died, and she didn't have many left to fight against Irma's invading army. She was outnumbered, her men were malnourished, and Armeni wasn't helping any of her Eastern Country allies. That includes the UAHR. Kayatsya knew there was no other option. The option to retreat. Deal with this another day. The UAHR is a fairly huge country, spanning across 2 continents. So retreating for some time won't be a huge fuss, the Capitol was still far away. It won't be the end of the world, though, many major cities have been taken.

But none of them mattered.

The oil reserves and weaponry can be found in those cities, but most can be seen in the Capitol. Luckly for Kayatsya, Uso doesn't plan on invading her, she's more focused on expanding South right now. If only her people were more willing to go to war. But they really do have an excuse to be fed up with everything right now.
Just a few years before the war, the UAHR had a literal Revolution. And Kayatsya too played a small part in it. During that Revolution, the UAHR also went through war, they always were. It was against the Treuesreich, or more like the Treuesreich before Irma took power. Just like now, fighting against the same people, the same country, the same determination.

The screams, the sound of bombs and their explosions, the loud blows that came from the tanks and war planes, they made her ear ring. Kayatsya yelled "RETREAT! I REPEAT, RETREAT!"

With that Kayatsya turned around and ran as fast as she could, together with her soldiers. All were wounded, including her, some were on the floor struggling to get up, doomed to meet a painful death when the opposing army catches up. The vehicles were all broken, they were specifically targeted by the bomber planes.

Kayatsya's chest started to hurt from all the running, but the point of running and retreating away is so they could reach a safe space. Kayatsya couldn't understand why the opposition decided to attack in the middle of the night. From what she had observed, Kayatsya's army and Irma's were fighting since morning, how were they able to maintain that energy for hours? Another key point Kayatsya noticed was that they looked sleep deprived, seriously. Yet still have the capacity to fight? Perhaps they were on some drugs, or they were extremely determined for victory. The first option seemed more logical though.

Finally, after a few minutes, or even an hour, Kayatsya and her men reached a safe space, the base they set up just in case. Irma's army seems to have stop trying to catch up to them for some time now, but, just in case they decide to do a sneak attack, Kayatsya's army decided to run further. Kayatsya planned to go back to the UAHR's government building to do some work. She was, after all, away for 2 weeks. She had some paperwork to do, and some speeches to present.

Her soldiers were pretty much useless. She needed people who were much more healthier than her soldiers. If the men couldn't do it themselves, then the her women would help. Most people from the UAHR had military training because this specific country just seems to be unable to not go to war. But she'll have to do this slow and steady, meaning that the women weren't allowed to be in the front lines. There were some women in the front lines, but 'some' meant less than 10. The reason for this was plain obvious, they (the women) had no experience in actual war. They've trained for it, but they never actually went to war. And the people accepting the enlistment focused on the men more. Which Kayatsya never really had a problem with, until now.

Once Kayatsya returns to the Capitol, she'll try to allow women to fight in the war, make signing up for women much easier, and make them accepted to join the army easier...

With a smug face, and a cheering crowd, Kayatsya left without another word. The UAHR ministers agreed to allowing more women to enlist in the military. It wasn't easy though, many agreed, but there were obviously some who disagreed. In fact, it was actually a draw between 'yes' and 'no'. So they had to make additional rules, and hopefully the disagreeing side would stop saying nonsense.

"Mother."

Kayatsya stopped in her tracks, behind her was Promee. Kayatsya had absolutely forgotten that Promee had training in order to become the new leader of the UAHR once Kayatsya dies. Well, only if Promee manages to convince the people will she become the next leader. If not, the Secretary should be able to instead. There was no such thing as "democracy" in the UAHR, but there definitely was autocracy. Promee's training was so that she doesn't make the same mistakes as the last tzar of the UAHR did. Ruling a country with no experience nor education.

"Done with your training?" Kayatsya scoffed while walking through the hallway. Promee responded with a mumbled 'yes '. Kayatsya would always have to take Promee back home after she had finished her training course(s). Which was troublesome of course, but every person she would employ gets either too nervous or get scared and intimidated by Kayatsya's presence. Which isn't what Kayatsya is trying to do. She just wants her daughter to return home and take a break. But I guess that's what happens when you implement strict laws and strict punishment to your country, maybe a bit too often than normal.

The road was bumpy, the street was empty and the sky was foggy. It had a devastated and distressed atmosphere. Everything was so dull, dark, and boring. The UAHR had really been going through some stuff. To foreigners, the people of the UAHR are crazy and mentally ill, all because of the way the place looked like. The same way some people would look at someone who doesn't fit your standards and aesthetic, which makes them hate that person despite how optimistic and nice they really were.

Maybe when this war ends, no matter when, maybe Kayatsya would have the chance to see the country improve and become less depressing. More colourful, more joyful, more laughter. Maybe she'll see the day when all those soldiers and innocent people the Treuesreich had imprisoned be finally free. Relieved and regain they're liberty. Or not, maybe they were all dead. Maybe Kayatsya would see her people healthy and not have to worry about death or another war.

The country has never seen the light of day for 60 years. In that 60 years, people were unable to afford food, famine was on the rise, the rich were having the time of their lives, 3 "revolutions" happened, and one actual revolution, one that actually worked. The death of her abandoners and biological family was when the revolution happened.

Kayatsya just hoped that when the time does come, the time where Promee becomes the new leader, she will pick the right choices and make the Motherland a peaceful haven. It never has been, and maybe it never will. But surely that can't be happening forever.

They both had just arrived home, this part of the Capitol was quite busy. It was the most active part of the City. No hesitation it's because this specific part was the most peaceful, calm and serene place they could ever be. Far away from where the battles are happening, far away from those western whores.

Home is where you feel safe. Home is where you are free from all dangers. Home is where you can express yourself dearly with no embarrassment and hesitation. Even if it means you have to lock yourself in your room.

Home, is where they love you, and so do you to them.

The relationship between Kayatsya and her children wasn't like that. Sometimes they would be united, but often would they be divided.
