12 | The Last Rail, Scene Twelve

1:09 pm. Actors in place.

The curtain rises.

'Lights, camera, action,' Donatel announced.

7:35 p.m., time posed.

Chloe wanted to relax as she walked past two white oak trees.

Chloe and Dean-Bob decided to rest, watching the baby birds, the jays, open their wee mouths to eat.

Chloe scratches her nose and says, 'Dean, I feel disturbed, we can watch a movie at 'The Stars Movie Theatre.

Dean replied politely, 'We have rented the 'Renegade'. I am looking forward to watching it with you. How about picking up Chili to eat tonight?'

Dean-Bob continues, 'I have a sister who wants to meet you. Her name is Dinah. She is a lovely sister. She says one thing turns around and does the opposite. She calls me old as fashion-bob.

Dean kissed Chloe's cheek.

Chloe wanted more than that. She wanted to let his eyes shine full of life.

Chloe says, 'I am going out of town for a friend's wedding. I will be out of town for a little while.'

Dean says, 'I appreciate you taking the time to mention it to me.'

Chloe says, 'You can call me, I will give you my uncle's phone number.'

Dean tossed his key up in the air and caught them.

Dean says, 'Don't think about catching the Bride's bouquet.'

Chloe muttered, 'Nope, I am staying single, Dean-Bob.'

Chloe quickly changes the subject and says, 'I can't wait to visit Mr. Antle's dog, Chico, he is a black mutt but acts like a pussy-cat.

Dean-Bob says, 'You know what they say is that a man's best friend is a dog. And rumor has it that the old man is insane and not very friendly.'

Chloe didn't like what Dean-Bob said.

'He has shoulders, and no one carries his burdens for him. He's old and needs company, nobody visits him.

Dean-Bob says, 'I suppose it's for your comfort as well as his. Count me out, I am not visiting him with you. When I do settle down and have children, I will get a family dog. He will sit by my feet and guard the place.

Chloe says, 'He likes dogs, Dean-Bob.'

Dean-Bob says, 'Chloe, you have walls in your life, side-shows, and play games with me.

Chloe sets the key in the lock and unlocks the door.

Dean-Bob smiled, 'Still, there's no place like home.' He takes off his boots.

Dean-Bob and Chloe enjoyed their chili and watched the Renegade movie.

'That's a wrap,' Donatel announced.

The curtain falls.
