Chapter 1: Victory Road

"Is that your Gible? Awesome!"

"You like Pokémon?"

"Like them? I love them!"

"Really? I can show you where to find them."

"What are we waiting for? Let's go!"

"I'm gonna become Champion, just you wait."

"When I become Champion, I'll let you become a part of the Elite Four."

"Really? I think you look much better as an Elite Four member under me."

"Let's just get to the next gym before we fantasize about nonsense."

"Is this really how it all ends? This isn't what we promised!"

"..."

"All this time... The time we spent journeying, the time we spent together, and all those memories. Do they mean nothing to you?"

"..."

"Answer me damn it! I know you're not giving this your all!"

The challenger has defeated the last of the Champion's Pokémon!

"Guess my time is up."

"You aren't going anywhere! I refuse to accept this vic-"

Victory Road.

It was filled with powerful trainers and obstacles fit for a trainer with the qualities as it was the final road a trainer must take to face the Elite Four and the Champion.

A man stands in front of the entrance of the Pokémon League after exiting the cave. His name was Y/N and he was a trainer aiming to become the best like everyone else. However, today he came to the League for a different reason. When he was younger, the only thing on his mind was to become the Champion of Sinnoh and become the strongest. His journey was one to be remembered in history as one of the youngest trainers to challenge the League. He accomplished his goal of becoming strong, but he failed to realize the consequences that came with it resulting in bigger problems.

So this time, his goal wasn't defeating the Champion as he was here to make amends.

"You know bud? I think your call to take the shortcut was a good idea." Y/N said as he adjusted his face mask.

Next to him was his partner, the land shark Pokémon, Garchomp. He let out a confident snort as he wagged his tail.

Garchomp had been with Y/N from the very beginning since it was a Gible. They were inseparable as they did everything together. He was his first Pokémon, his first partner, and his second best friend.

Why wasn't he the first?

Well, that spot was reserved for someone else. It might be disappointing to Garchomp, but he would understand as he knew who it was. They were even the ones who let the two meet.
