Chei noticed, looking at the window in confusion.

The kitsune licked her paw, returning the gaze. Kai seemed lost in thoughts, or maybe still in shock from finding out what his brother was reading, he didn't really notice yet.

“Uh love?..” she taps Kai’s arm to get his attention.

"..mhn?" He lifted his head.

“..window” that’s the only thing she said.

He looked up, his body immediately tensing at the sight of the animal, getting incredibly stiff.

The small kitsune jumped down from the windowsill onto the nightstand, flicking her ears.

"..You're seeing this too, right?" Kai mumbled, staring at the animal.

“The kitsune? Yeah I do” she replied.

"Mhm.." The small animal licked her snot, and Kai sat up, just staring at it blankly.

After a few minutes, Nori got tired of this and flicked her ears in annoyance.

"Is this gonna continue for hours now?" She asked.

Chei recognized the voice sitting up now and to the side of the bed.
“Ah you again..”

"Yeah, surprise." She mumbled, jumping down from the nightstand and dissolving into a ball of fluff before turning human.

"Should i come back later?" She asked, seeing as Kai's mouth was too dry to speak, she looked at Cheicou.

She glanced at Kai. “This should be over in a bit. Wanna have some tea in the meantime?” she offers her.

"I don't see why not." She nodded, smiling slightly.

“Great” she smiles, getting off the bed before leading Nori into the kitchen.

They left Kai behind and Nori followed her, sitting down by one of the chairs..
"Soo, how long has this been going? You and Kai I mean." She asked curiously.

“A few weeks” she replied, boiling some water.

"So I'm not too late" he chuckled a bit, propping up her elbows and resting her chin in-between her palms.

“What do you mean?” she asks, sitting down across from her.

"Ah, don't worry about it." She shock her head.

Attitude and secretive.. fits.. she observes the girl.
“I never caught your name, did I?”

"It's Nori. How about you?" She drew her tounge over her dry lip, looking at the female.

“Cheicou” she nods a bit, noticing that the water was boiling, so she stood up.
“What tea would you like?”

"Do you have any earl grey?" She asked. Well, of course they had, it was the siblings favourite tea since childhood.

“More than enough” she prepared Nori’s tea, handing it to her while she made herself some green tea.

"Thank you." She said, taking the warm cup of the tea, waiting a little bit before taking a small sip, the hot liquid filling up her throat.

Chei simply sits down, not saying a word and just nodding in response.

A few moments later, Kai came running into the room, wrapping his arms around the pale woman, almost making her drop her tea. A light laugh escaped her lips as she put down the cup, wrapping her arms around him as he nuzzled his head into her chest.

"..I thought you.." he couldn't bring himself to finish the sentence, just squeezung her tighter.

Chei just sat at the table sipping her tea, pretty much ignoring this scene.

A few minutes later, Nori pried him off.
"Okay that's enough." She mumbled, going back to sipping on her tea. Kai rolled his eyes, stealing a sip from her cup, making her kick his leg.

"What a reunion." he mumbled, grinning a bit. Nori wore the same expression.

Ny now Cheicou had disappeared, off to who knows where.

Kai, being used to this by now, didn't mind, just taking her cup and putting it into the sink, enjoying the comfortable silence he  shared with his sister.

"Wanna see Kairo after this? He'll only be around here for another two days." Kai asked as Nori handed him her own cup.
"Mhn? I'd love that, but where is he going?"

"Back to work in the desert."

"Ahw, so he really went through with it? Damn, I did not see that coming"

The male chuckled, drying his hands as he was finished.
"Now c'mon."

Arriving at the forest spot he was sitting at, they saw the male laying in the grass, a cute little squirrel resting on his lower stomach comfortably. Nori chuckled softly, switching to her kitsune form, the familiar tingle going through her body as she shrunk and grew ears and tails. Her older brother raised an eyebrow. She approached Kairo, rubbing her snot against his cheek, giving it a little lick.

"Mhn-?" The male slowly opened his eyes looking at the animal. When Nori left, he was barely 50 years old, so he doesn't quiet remember her animal form in detail.
"Well hello you..~" he smiled a little, reaching out to pet her. She purred, rubbing against his hand, climbing on top of his chest to not disturb the squirrel. He chuckled as she curled into a small ball, running his hand through her soft fur.

Damn, my brother marked someone, the other one is marked, what's next? she thought, but soon finding herself enjoying the affection. Kai just smiled and left the scene, returning home to wait for Cheicou. And to finally burn that damned book.
