eyes don't lie

Training

I park my red mini into one of the only empty parking spaces I'm late like I normally am.

I'm surprised when I see katie Park a few spaces away, she's normally one of the earlier ones to arrive.

I catch myself stating. Shit. Her sisters in the car I quickly look away and then off the engine. I chuck my keys into my bag trying to avoid looking at katie.

Her eyes are so perfect..

Stop. Snap out of it Alanna she's with her sister.

We're sat in the meeting room listening to Jonas talk about tactics or whatever he talks about I don't listen, some of the time, most of us don't.

I sit next to steph with alessia the other side of me, Katie's sat next to Alessia.

I figured out why Katie's sister was here I think she was dropping katie off but I still think she caught me stating.

The meeting finally ends so we all head to the locker room to change.

"Shit." I mutter under my breath.

"You ok alanna?" Beth asks.

"Yep."

"Lani what's up" katie says quietly.

"It's nothing I just forgot my training top."

"You can borrow my spare"

"You sure?"

"Ofcourse"

Me and Katie walk out to the training pitch beth notices I'm wearing Katie's top and whistles at us jokingly.

"Jesus Calm down Beth, I just forgot my top" I say laughing

"I bet you forgot it on purpose to wear Katie's"

"What the fuck? Why would you think that" I say still joking but slightly annoyed.

"We've all seen you staring lani" Beth says teasing me.

Katie gulps.

"Were just friends Beth I've only been here a month"

Beth walks off giggling.

"Well that was awkward" katie says with a awkward giggle.

"I'm so sorry that was probably really awkward I'm sorry you probably felt uncomfortable I'm sorry"

I always struggled overthinking

Katie probably doesn't like me like that so I need to stop staring. Need to stop doing things that make other people think we have something going on.

Were playing 5v5 matches I'm on a team with sabrina steph alessia and caitlin. We're against Manuela lotte victoria Beth and stina.

Jonas will not let a match finish as a draw so all the other girls gather round to watch us as they all finished there matches. 

I zone out staring at katie.

"Alanna!" Steph shouts as she passes the ball to me.

I snap out of it quickly and get back to playing I dribble the ball past victoria and pass it to caitlin but manuela saves it but alessia scores the rebound.

We all do a small celebration nothing big as its just a training match. About 10 minutes later the full time whistle blows.

I grab my bottle and down half of it.

"Don't let me distract you in matches again" katie whispers.

Shit. She saw me staring.

We all walk back into the locker room and I sit down next to Katie trying to avoid eye contact.

I hear some of the girls talking about a movie night, I guess I'm not invited so I don't let it bother me.

"Laniiiiii wanna come for a movie night round mine tonight?" Beth asks.

I'm happy I'm invited.

"Ye sure I'll come"

"Just bring some kind of snack"

"Will do"

"Be at mine for 6"

"See you then Beth"

I stand in my kitchen making my grandma's burgers, her recipe is the best. I finish cooking them and put them into a thermos container.

I drive over to beth and vivs house steph and jen are allready there.

"Hey lans" Beth welcomes me in.

"What smells so good" viv asks

"I brought my homemade burgers"

30 mins later everyone's here. (Katie, Alanna, Steph, Jen, Leah, Alessia)

"These burgers are banging who made them?" Katie asks

"Ye there pretty good" Alessia adds on.

"Alanna made them" steph informs everyone who didn't know.

We all agree to watch the lion King. I sit on one of the 3 sofas Beth and viv have I beat everyone to the corner seat. I snuggle under the blanket I brought with me.

We all sing hakuna matata together, not ling after I fall asleep with my head on someone's shoulder completely unaware of who.
