Crushing The Enemy

Chapter 2-BATT's

A week went by, eda had been going out every day to get all and any Information on the band of criminals. 

It frustrated her that she had been treated in a way.  Grabbed in such a way, and pinned so roughly. If the situation was different she would have been turned on, and to be honest she was slightly turned on anyway.  She's just one of those witches who likes being handled rough. currently on the roof of the castle, working. She was going through pictures she had been able to collect over the weeks.  Especially the one whom she fought and lost to. 

That's when she heard slithering, eda looked up, then smelled the fragrance of Snapdragons. She sighed, rolling her eyes.  She turned around and saw Terra Snapdragon standing behind her. "Edalyn, what is it you're up to?" Added in her usual condescending tone she used when talking to Eda.  She was the youngest coven head, so there wasn't much respect for her when she was speaking with someone privately unless she was cruel or cold and reminded of her position.  "Terra.. I thought it got dusty suddenly" Eda replied in an annoyed tone. 

She heard a fake giggle from the elderly woman. "Is that any way to speak to your elders? All I did we ask a question" Eda huffed.  "What do you want," Eda asked in a demanding tone. "I wanted to check in and make sure you don't get distracted from your little mission" the smug tone Terra had agrivatted eda to her core.  "I don't need your concern."  Her quick response brought nothing but satisfaction to Terra's face.  "Is that so? Just because you're head of the emperor's coven doesn't mean you're any better than the rest of us"  Terra Informed her. Eda sighed. "I'm aware..' Eda muttered, looking back down at the photos.

She then saw them, standing alone in the woods. Seemingly looking for something.  Their mint hair, and green eyes, their brown skin, the way they looked standing there. She hated them.
Eda despised anyone who made a her look silly, or incompetent.   And they completely made a fool of her forgot a good 30 seconds. 3 seconds was the maximum she was willing to endure.   During this whole time of looking at their picture, Terra was still talking to her, but she didn't care.  The wind blows, and soon she hears a strange sound. Like much forming or slime being pulled.  "edalyn"
Eda's body whipped around to see Darius standing over her.  "Darius.   "Uh hey, no need to sneak up on me like that," she said as a small smile formed.  "You still wouldn't realize I was hear if I snuck up on you" Darius scoffed, then stood next to her. "What are those pictures for?" He asked.

Eda looked at the pictures, the picture of just them.  "A band of criminals.. Trying to convert people who don't have sigils already to stay that way" Eda explained. "Me and Lily took a crack at them a few weeks ago, and the fuckers got away. And I'm just tracking them down"
Darius nodded. "Well you're not totally incompetent, so you'll be fine" Darius responded. Eda rolled her eyes. "Would it kill you to say something nice to me?"  She asked.
"Would it kill you?" He asked right back. "Yes. yes it would" she shot back. "Yep"

Eda and Darius had a unique relationship. They argued like hell Sometimes, but there was genuine care between them. Both of them knew that, but that didn't mean they were going to be nice.  Really Darius was friends with Lilith, really great friends actually.  Eda just came naturally. Eda was staring at the pictures again, flipping through them.  "Any good at detective work?" Darius asked. "You know I am. But these cowards won't show their-" Eda stopped, sensing something.  Darius also sensed it, and then suddenly pulled Eda behind him. Sharp objects flew right into her previous position, almost grazing them.  
"Oh fuck.. Thanks" Eda said while breathing heavily.  "Don't thank me yet"   Darius mumbled.    

He drew a spell circle, abomination slime rising quickly creating a wall.  Eda took a step away.   "what the hell is going on!?" Eda asked. "Seems those cowards showed themselves" Eda finally focused, and drew a large spell circle shooting whoever was flying towards them out of the sky.  "Don't kill them eda!" Darius scolded. "They're not dead!.. I-i don't think" Eda muttered in uncertainty. Darius groaned, then covered himself and Eda in abomination goo. Hearing Eda scream at him. "DARIUS!!!"  The goop fazed through the castle, teleporting them where the criminals landed. 

When the goop disappeared, Eda fell over. "you prick!! Warn me next time! How do you even do that!?"  Eda yelled. "Quiet." Darius scolded.    They both walked up closely and saw 3 teenagers in bat masks. (Not sure about their age)
"Ugh! Amber! You weren't supposed to rush off without us!" A girl with brown skin scolded. "I got excited!" Amber argued. The boy then looked up and saw Eda and Darius staring all three of them down, and talked kataya to get her attention.  "Oh crud.. " she muttered. 

Before they knew it, all three teens were being interrogated by Eda.  "Who do you work for!? I've asked like 4 times!" Eda yelled.   "Yeah! So stop it! I don't respond to people yelling at me" Kataya argued.   Eda's eye twitched.  "Fuck me sideways!" She yelled as a way to vent.     She stormed out, but just as she did, someone became visible in the corner of the room. "Are you three okay?" They asked. "Raine! Have you been there the entire time?" Derwin asked. "Yeah, I followed her here, sorry" Raine replied, and, pulled out keys, to unlock the handcuffs.  "That lady has issues.. " Amber said, referring to Eda.    "Mh. I'm sure of it, regardless we need to talk to her, but that can wait, come on, let's go"    Raine said, and whistled to blow a hole through the wall.  Amber, Derwin, and Kataya jumped out and Raine followed. 

Eda came back with Lilith this time and the two immediately saw the hole in the wall. "OH, WHAT THE FUCK!?"  Eda yelled.  

Further in the woods was a small hideout, they walked through the purple curtains, all standing by the table. "Can you please explain to me how you got captured?" Raine asked, their voice sounding disapproving. "She shot us out of the sky!" Amber complained, then folded her arms. "Why-.. Why we're you in the sky?" Raine asked as that was not the plan they communicated to them. "Because! You said to go high! How else could we look through the windows?" Kataya asked.   Raine facepalmed. "I meant a tree, you guys.. Not in the air" they explained.  All three of them paused, then collectively said "Oh. "  Raine couldn't help but chuckle a little. "Remember, we just need to talk to her, we're not trying to hurt her" Raine explained. "Yes, boss!" They all agreed. 

Raine nodded and went to a Backroom, with tons of maps and pictures. Pictures of the emperor, some of Lilith and Darius. Other coven heads, but mostly Eda.  Her name was written in red ink and pictures of her were circled. They also had pictures of her when she was announced as the new coven head for the emperor coven.  they grabbed one of the pictures of her, looking at it. They'll admit, she's attractive.   But their reason for needing her attention isn't a hookup or even a date.   But.. Maybe if they could get done what they needed to get done, they might become her friend.

The moon arose over the boiling isles, and everyone was asleep, all except Eda.   She was in the throne room because the emperor requested to see her.  She just had to wait for him to show.  In all honesty, she had half a mind to leave right now.  While considering her options, she stayed because well she had to then hear his chilling voice. "Edalyn."
