A/N: if you came here for intense smut, then you may not find this story worth your time. this book was made for heartmelting fluff, something that this fandom lacks a lot more than smut. i am aware that smut gets a lot more views than fluff because horny power :D but this book is mostly aimed for me so i could tickle my brain with wholesomeness. (it doesn't mean i'll have completely no smut in the story though)

"Tsk tsk tsk, Patches! C'mere! Aren't you excited for your food?"

Dream cooed, setting a metal bowl of cat food onto the floor and kneeling down to become closer to cat-height. He gestured for her to come but the effort was wasted because she had sensed the food already and was also in the process of bounding towards it.

Sapnap watched Patches lap up the wet food with a half-hearted smile. "Dream, you really do know how to treat her like a queen."

"This is lowkey making me hungry, just watching Patches eat with an empty stomach," commented George, staring at her. Patches was contentedly licking at the food she missed out on the edges of the bowl.

Dream unfurled himself from the cat-dad crouching position and stood up, revealing his full height. That man could easily tower over everyone here. "Might as well spend some quality time cooking, you know. Rather than sitting here and feeling stupid."

"Say no more, chef Clay," George remarked as Sapnap exclaimed "on it!" half-sarcastically. Dream wilted slightly in an almost unnoticeable way.

Sap got up to detour towards the refrigerator. "In all seriousness, though, I think it's a great idea." Opening the fridge door, he eyed the contents up and down. "Right, so what are we thinking?"

"Maybe Mac n' Cheese or something but we do it recipe-less to see how it turns out," Dream suggested.

George paused. "Our followers would love this kind of stuff. Cooking stream it is!"

Tilting his head, Sap smiled, slight but genuine. "Dream, can you deal with the ingredients? I'll go get the cameras and set them up."

It's remarkable how far they've come from simply being online friends to deadass living together. And, they reach the one-and-a-half-year mark exactly a week from now. Sapnap was pretty sure he was the only one who remembered.

Oh yes, and, Karl is going to come as well to stay for a month. They couldn't turn down the chances of new content, but content or no content, he was hyped up about seeing his good friend again.

After grabbing the cameras, ring lights and tripods, he laid them out with the intention of giving them a few more angles of the kitchen. "Stand by the counter for me, George," he told him, and adjusted the lighting accordingly for a better, more natural look. "Thanks."

Dream placed the last of his random ingredient assortment splayed throughout the counter.

"We don't need all of these, do we?" George questioned with a laughing tremor in his voice, gazing up at him warmly. Dream stared at the smaller boy with contentedness. "I'll go and put some back," George added, turning away and breaking eye-contact. Watching, Dream studied every movement he made while packing away some frozen meat back into the freezer.

Rolling his eyes to himself, the corners of Sapnap's mouth lifted. Oh man, I get why the fandom ships them so much. The warmth in his heart ached a bit from knowing that he would always be the spare in this household. Hence why he was so excited for Karl's appearance tomorrow.

"When are we going live, then, Dream?" He asked, breaking the taller man's train of thought.

"After George is done organizing the ingredients." He said that shamelessly as if he wasn't checking out his best friend just a moment before. After fiddling with his laptop to get Twitch open, he stole a glance back to see how much George had done. "Alright, I'm gonna get us live now in 3... 2... 1... now!"
