(A/N: Filler chapter so don't expect much :3)
"I'm thinking of maybe doing a cooking stream all together today," suggested Dream out of the blue.
"Sure, why not," Karl replied. Murmurs of affirmation came from George and Sapnap.
"Nah, like, 'without a recipe and the chat has to help' type of cooking stream."
The other three perked up a little. "That sounds fun," commented Karl. Sapnap had forgotten that he wasn't there during the first no-recipe stream.
"It is."
George looked so adorably excited. "What are we making?"
"An anniversary cake," suggested Sapnap. One-and-a-half years ago, the Dream Team first met up.
Dream tilted his head, brow furrowed puzzlingly. "For what?"
"You guys are such goofballs. Please don't tell me you've forgotten." He shook his head in response.
The other three simply stood still, exchanging glances and seemingly uncomfortable.
Sapnap sighed jokingly. "Dream and George, you should know this. You're all good, Karl." Sweeping a glance around, he laughed at the genuinely fearful faces of his friends and the awkward shuffling of their feet. "C'mon. There's no way you've forgotten that it's been one-and-a-half years since the first Dream Team meet up. AKA when we moved in together."
"OHH!" George covered his face with his hands, shaking with a shameful laughter.
Dream appeared to be lost in thought for a second but then blinked. "Oh, right, it is. Dude. Your memory is insane, what..."
"1.5 year anniversary!!" Smiling from ear to ear, Karl clapped his hands excitedly. "How are you this good at remembering dates??" Sapnap's heart lurched momentarily at how pure he seemed, but most of all at the compliment. Sure, Dream meant a lot to him but hearing it from Karl was just so much more precious.
"Anybody with an experience of baking?" Dream's gaze swiped across the room. Nobody spoke up. "That's great, because the no-recipe idea is gonna hit harder."
"Not harder than your father," Sapnap said robotically out of pure instinct. "Sorry. That was kind of an automatic response."
"Riiight," said Dream pointedly, "when are we going live?"
"I'll set up the cams, as always," offered Sapnap.
In a way that could be considered strange, Karl perked up a bit too eagerly. "Can I join you? I want to see how you guys set up cams." He turned to give a glance at George, smiling. A small twinge of jealousy poked at Sapnap's chest. It seemed like they knew something he didn't.
Ignoring that feeling and pushing it aside as 'stupid', he gestured for Karl to follow. "Sure thing." There was a cabinet in the quite hidden spare room. Yeah, the Dream Team house was pretty enormous. A guest room and also a separate spare room used mainly for storage.
"I don't think I've ever been in here," said Karl. Sounds about right, as this one was tucked in on the bottom floor at a pretty inconspicious place. He probably had passed it but Sapnap was used to visitors mistaking it as a downstairs bathroom.
Reaching inside, he flipped on the lights and stepped in towards one of the many cabinets against the unpainted, white walls. The space in the middle had a stray cardboard box with abandoned jigsaw pieces strewn across it.
Karl's gaze was on him as Sapnap grabbed some tripods and the ring lights to distribute. Handing some off to his friend, he used a free hand to grasp an extra camera. "Can you close the lights and door for me? My hands are full."
