Toxic Love

In a web of deceit, where love's true face is veiled,
A toxic dance, where hearts are torn and failed.
Like a venomous kiss, it seeps into the soul,
Corrupting all that's pure, taking its toll.

Promises whispered, like honeyed words so sweet,
But behind the facade, lies a bitter deceit.
Control and manipulation, a suffocating embrace,
Leaving scars that time cannot erase.

Jealousy's green-eyed monster, a constant, gnawing fear,
Whispering doubts and insecurities in the lover's ear.
Isolation's cold grip, cutting off from the light,
Trapping the victim in a suffocating night.

Self-esteem shattered, like glass beneath a heel,
As the toxic lover's words inflict a cruel reveal.
Gaslighting's twisted game, distorting reality's line,
Making the victim question their own sanity and mind.

But even in the darkness, a flicker of hope remains,
A longing for freedom, to break the toxic chains.
With trembling steps, the victim seeks a way out,
To escape the clutches of love's venomous doubt.

Healing's journey is arduous, a path fraught with pain,
But with courage and support, freedom can be gained.
Breaking the cycle, reclaiming self-worth's flame,
Rising from the ashes, stronger than before, they reclaim their name.
