A Nerdy Affair (a Dan Howell story)

Death Note and dreams.

I don't want to go back to the flat. I don't want to talk to Jess right now, I would much rather go and relax at Dan and Phil's. But at the same time I knew this would upset Justin, he didn't want his family fighting. Neither did I, I just couldn't face Jess. It broke my heart to tell him I didn't want to go back to the flat right now.

"Um.. Justin?" I mumbled, my voice very quiet and my eyes on the ground.

"Mmm?" He replied, texting furiously on his phone.

" I think I am going to stay at Dan and Phil's again tonight" As I say this he raises his eyes off his phone and on to mine. I can read his face like a book. He is upset with this decision.

"Right OK." He says "just come back when you are ready yeah?". My heart almost breaks as he says this as he sounds so sad. As much as I wanted to stay with Justin, I needed some space. But almost as soon as he looked sad it was replaced by his cheeky grin.

"Means you can get closer to lover boy anyways" Hearing this I stuck my tongue out at him. Was sex all he ever thought about?

We got into the lift, our hands joined still. Just as the doors were about to close Dan ran towards it grabbing the door.

"I thought I was going to miss it" Dan panted, bent over slightly.

"You need to exercise more mate" Laughed Justin. I on the other hand was dying. Here I was, standing next to the guy I like, but holding hands with another! Just as I thought this I watched Dan's eyes look at our hands. His eyebrows clenched slightly. But in seconds they were unclenched and he was smiling at us.

" You two make a cute couple" Shit. Did he think we were a couple? I pulled my hand out of Justin and took a step away from him. Just as I was insisting that we weren't dating, Justin swung his arm round me.

"Awh yeah I love my Gabby baby. Isn't she just the cutest?" He pinched my cheeks and gave me a sloppy kiss on the forehead.

"Ew." I shuddered. ducking out from under his arm and ever further away from him "we are most definitely not going out. Ever. Ew. That would be like dating my brother." Justin just patted my head, mumbling something about it being my dream. Loser.

Dan throughout all of this was just watching on, a small smile on his face. My cheeks grew hot with the idea that he thought I was cute. Ok, so I see that wasn't what he really said but... Oh well. The bell dinged and Justin jumped off the lift.

"Call me Gabs" Was all he said as he left. This left Dan and I alone in the lift. Clearing my throat I asked about where Phil was.

"Oh he should be in the flat actually. We aren't joined at the hip you know" I laughed at this, I had to admit since knowing them I barely seen them apart. At his side he held a bag that read HMV.

"What have you been buying from HMV?" I asked as we both left the lift.

" Ah I got the Death Note box set for Phil and I..." I lit up at this. I loved Death Note.

"Light for the win" I stated. I had a slight soft spot for mad boy.

"Umm... Gabby I hate to break it to you but Light is a mass murderer" Dan laughed, looking at me as if I was the mad one.

"Who's a mass murderer?" Shouted Phil, sticking his head round the kitchen door.

"Dan is" I laughed, walking towards the kitchen.

"Dan you could have warned me before I agreed to move in with you." Phil gasped. I couldn't stop laughing, I mean I know it wasn't that funny, I was just imagining Dan as Light now. Now that would be perfect.
