The next day everything goes normally until I hear a loud crash. Something has hit the roof!
I go out to the garden and find Aoi Todo on the roof with Megumi, who is already injured, blood dripping from his forehead. Oh, I know what's happening! Todo is such an idiot... I facepalm.
"How boring you are, Fushiguro!" I barely hear him say as he continues to hit Megumi. I panic, at this point Nobara must be exchanging blows with Mai Zenin... I don't know if Maki has already intervened by now.
Ugh, I've always detested Aoi Todo for this... I thought it was too absurd for him to beat up Gumi just because of how he answered about his type of woman. Of course! After getting to know the character more and seeing that he's just as delusional as me, I added him to my favorite list of characters, yay~
However, now I have to watch over my boy Megumi. I look around worriedly.
"Panda! Toge!" I call several times.
I run to the training field, and the mentioned ones seem to hear my calls because they turn in my direction, Maki is also with them.
"Guys! Megumi and Nobara are in trouble!" I exclaim, and the three waste no time running towards the school facilities, to the rest area with the vending machines.
I exhale tiredly as I hurry my steps to the infirmary. I have to find Shoko.
I run through the hallways until I reach the medical area. I see Shoko smoking outside the infirmary, next to an open window. She seems lost in thought but turns to look at me as soon as she hears the quick tapping of my shoes against the wooden floor.
"Y/n? Is something wrong?" she asks as she sees me leaning my hands on my knees, trying to catch my breath.
"It's..." I sigh, "it's about Meg..."
"Shoko!" Panda exclaims, I see he's carrying Megumi in his arms and enters the room with him.
The woman tosses the cigarette aside and quickly enters with them, I follow them behind. It doesn't really take much time, the boy heals very quickly, Panda leaves, and I offer to clean his forehead. Shoko lets me, while she prepares a new bandage to hold his head.
"He's tougher than you think," she comments, skillfully placing the bandage, the boy is sleeping peacefully. I nod, and approach to gently stroke his unruly hair.
These spiky hairs, he got them from his mom... I think smiling wistfully.
"I know," I reply, "but he's still just a kid..."
A kid who lost his mother, who was sold and abandoned by his father... (Another daddy but that conversation is for another day...)
Ugh, Gege knew how to add the necessary angst and make us fans live it all, because that's how we are!
Shoko seems to nod, emitting an affirmative sound.
>> "How long until he's recovered?" I ask and sigh tiredly, "For heaven's sake, he just finished his break from the last mission yesterday." I facepalm.
"He should be fine by tomorrow," Shoko smiles and leaves with a new cigarette between her fingers.
...
There it is, today's the day.
The exchange event between the sister schools is about to begin. I'm with the guys: Panda, Toge, Maki, and Megumi. I asked if I could accompany them and it seems even the question sounded strange to them.
"Of course! Let's go!" was Panda's response earlier.
Sigh, I'm starting to feel like part of this group, huhuhu~ too bad Gege condemned this world to disaster.
