The day had come. Luke Castellan would be attending his first ever party. He wanted to decline like he did every time JD invited him to something outside of camp but JD hadn't asked. Odessa did and therefore he couldn't say no. He found it physically impossible to say no to Odessa and so Luke would be attending a Halloween party in July, which he found odd, but it actually made him more willing to go. Especially after Odessa's suggestion that he dress up as Anakin because of his scar even if it wasn't fully in the right place and Anakin hadn't gotten it until the third movie. People wouldn't care much, she noticed most people that dressed as Anakin Skywalker for halloween tended to forget the scar.
Odessa knocked on the door frame of the Hermes cabin. "Ready?" She questioned looking at the boy in his brown robe.
"I feel ridiculous," he let out turning to look at her. She wore Padmé's white outfit. Luke took in a shaky breath as his eyes scanned her.
"I think you're really pulling that off. You know you didn't have to go."
"But you asked me." Odessa frowned. She hated to think Luke would be miserable at a place where he should be having fun. She didn't want him to agree to do something because she asked, she wanted him to
genuinely want to do it."And that doesn't mean you're obligated to go, Luke."
"Yes, it does. I find it hard to not automatically agree with everything you say and plus I was told I need 'more regular teenager experiences,'" he spoke with quotation marks, "Don't regular teenagers go to parties?"
"Not all of them. You could've been part of the select few that don't go to parties 'til they're in college or their early twenties."
"And I'm 18 so aren't I close to both?" He questioned looking down at her. She took a second to answer because he had her there.
"Uh, good point. Shall we go, then?" He nodded but neither of them moved. Not only had they been alone in the Hermes cabin but they had been so for far too
long. "We're breaking camp rules, you know?" Odessa whispered, leaning closer to Luke."I know but frankly, I don't care," he whispered with a smirk.
"Ouu, rule breaker." Luke laughed. While he hated the camp rules he always followed them but he's taken joy in breaking curfew with Odessa most days of the week so why not break more of them? He found many of them ridiculous anyway. Mr. D and Chiron liked Odessa too much to punish either of them for breaking the rules which Luke stopped seeing as unfair because how could you not like Odessa?
"So are you guys going to kiss or you just going to stand there?" JD's voice rang from behind them. He was dressed as Danny Zuko while Callie, whose arm
was wrapped around JD's waist was Sandy. Two years ago, JD had showed her Grease on the projector they used to show the camp orientation video (the one no one had ever actually watched). Although, she had seen that movie before with her mother, it was her favorite. Since children of Aphrodite could change their appearance she didn't need a blonde wig and wouldn't damage her hair in the process. The blonde looked nice on her but she was glad it was only for one night. She felt brunette complimented her features more. Callie was more open to the idea of attending the party than Luke was. The technology used by the mortals that would be at the party was also a concern for him but since his friends weren't worried about that he tried to push it out of his mind. Keyword try. He had a dagger hidden under his cloak. Odessa's ring-decorated hand found his, pulling him out the door."There won't be monsters there, Luke," Odessa whispered to him as they walked behind JD and Callie to JD's car.
"You don't know that," he spoke looking over at her. "Anything can happen. Four demigods in a room full of teenagers that own some form of technology? It's a monster attraction," he added as Odessa fixed the hoister around her hips.
