Pearls-Sade
After the morning beach sesh Sade finally returned home. As she entered she found her older brother Danny getting ready for work.
Sadie's pov:
"Where were you?" My brother Danny asks. "I went for a walk, watched the sunrise." He looks at me suspiciously as if he knows I'm lying "bullshit. you were with those little boys weren't you." I look down at my feet not knowing how to respond "and if I was?" He turned to me with an annoyed expression. "Deja de salir con ellos, no causan más que problemas. (Stop hanging out with them, they cause nothing but problems.)" "No ellos no, simplemente no entiendes" (No they don't, you just don't understand) Danny turns to grab his keys "ok entonces dime para que pueda entender" (ok then,tell me so I can understand) I look at him blankly no knowing what to say once again. He sighs while looking at me "no vayas a arruinar tu vida Sadie" (don't go ruining your life Sadie)
"Mamá y yo trabajamos duro para que puedas tener una vida mejor. No lo desperdicies con chicos que apenas conoces." (Mom and I work hard so you can have a better life. Don't waste it on some guys you barely know.) I turn with a pissed off expression on my face "Yo los conozco, el problema es que tú no." (I know them, the problem is that you don't.) I walk to my room and shut my door. Why does he think he can have control of my life, just because he ruined his doesn't mean he has to ruin mine. As I lay on my bed I hear a knock at my door, it opens as my mom stands in the door way. "You okay?" I turn to look at her "yeah..why wouldn't i be?" She walks in to sit on my bed "well for one I heard you and your brother and two you're hair is wet." Shit how could I forget about that. "I....I was out, surfing this morning." She gives me a cautious look "were you alone?" "No actually..I wasn't I was with the guys. That's why Danny is mad" she laughs quietly "so...which one?" I give her a look of confusion "what...what do you mean?" She gives me a quirky smile "do you like...which one of the guys do you like?" My cheek turn red as the awkward question slips out her lips "none of them" she pulls me into a side hug "you can tell me you know. I'm your mom" I sigh not even wanting to think about my feelings " I don't know it's complicated" she releases me from the hug "well..when you figure it out come tell me, or if you need advice I'm always here." I laugh lightly "I know, hey can I go skate with some friends later?" She looks back before she exits "yeah, I have to go back to work at 10:30 so I need you back before then." I take a sigh of relief " yes ma'am I'll be back" just before she shuts the door she speaks "ok I trust you, i love you mija" "love you too ma" I go back to sleep for a few hours due to being tired from having an early morning. When I wake up I change, grab my board and head to Zephyr's. As I go to enter I see the rest of the boys are already inside. I push threw all of them to say hi to Sid, he's always had a special place in my heart. Sid is always so kind and funny to everyone he meets. That's what I liked about him. "Sid! It's been too long" I say as I pull him in for a hug " you saw me like two days ago." He says as he laughs "so....? You know all of the sudden I don't miss you." He laughs again turning to the counter to pick something up. "Wait Sadie...look they're urethane wheels, they come from oil. Oh and they grip." I laugh slightly at his amused tone. "Wow Sid..I mean this is life changing." He looks at me with a blank expression "very funny, jokes on you they might be." I laugh as I turn to the rest of the group. Making eye contact with the one who's already looking at me,Stacy, I gave him a friendly smile and looked away before things got too awkward. Skip walked back in with a skateboard in his hands "hand over the wheels Sid." He turns to look at me "oh hello Sadie, long time no see. How's the boneyard." I smile at him "it's great skip, I mean it really is, watching you and chino bust your asses on the waves. I mean how much better can it get." He lets out a little laugh "an observation I see, less watching more working. How bout that?" I turn to walk away from him "I don't know don't wanna miss anymore great moments like this morning." I approach Jay "you alright?" He turns to me with a smile "of course, are you alright?" I copy his actions "of course." My attention get thrown to T.A. yelling "let's go guys." We all exit the shop skating to the near by skate park. We all hop the fence to race towards skips who is holding up a skateboard with the urethane wheels attached. "Who's got bad karma?" Skip yells as the boys fight over the first ride on the board. I head over to Kathy, Tony's sister, I've know her for a while she's has always been a beautiful and sweet girl. As the guy start walking towards us I hear Stacy ask tony a question "Hey, dude is that your sister?" I don't know why this question seem to bug me. Stacy has never took interest in Kathy, so why now? As I turn to Kathy I realize she felt the same way. "I grew up Stacy." I looked back at the boy, jay leaned in and whispered "no shit!" Stacy laughed as he leaned into jay. He grabbed a board trying to impress Kathy and apparently he did. The board fell loose from his hold which caused Stacy to retrieve it and skate away. Kathy looked in awe and she cheered for him. "Girl you alright?" I ask with a blank face. She laughs as she turns to me. "I can't help it. I love long hair." She grabs her board and make a attempt at skating, almost falling off the board. I head over there to help her but it seems Stace beat me to it. I watch as he grabs her hand, I can't help but feel a type of way as I see how they interact. Just as I'm about to look away Tony skates right between the two making Kathy chase him and Stacy walk away. Still with the sour expression on my face,Sid takes notice. "You alright?" He ask. I turn to look at with a quick smile. "Yeah...I'm good. I should probably get going I got a shift at the tide in less than an hour." "Okay...well I'll go with you. Hang out with my favorite person!" I laugh at his attempt to cheer me up. "Yeah right. it's okay, you skate. I'll see you tomorrow Sid." He pulls me in for a hug. "See you Sadie."
