Yesterday was a blur. Jeremiah and I hadn't talked about us cuddling or spooning, or how it made me feel. He was recovering from a hangover so we stayed home and watched movies. I still enjoyed a chill day with him.
Today wasn't going to be chill though, because it was the 4th of July.
My aunt Laurel had ordered for me and belly to go for a grocery run in town, picking up the remaining items Susannah forgot to buy.
"Dad's bringing his girlfriend today, to meet us." Belly mentioned, I cringed at the fact my uncle John had a girlfriend.
"Let's hope she's nice." I replied, belly shrugged.
The three boys helped Susannah put up a small gazebo in the yard while belly and I hung up patriotic decor around the patio and outside the house.
"Shayla and the other debs are on their way." I heard Steven say to Conrad. I couldn't believe my cousin Steven got roped into being apart of the Debutante. Shayla was really cool though, she was good for Steven. Balanced him out.
I felt as Conrad touched my arm, turning me around to face him.
"Help me bring out the food?" he asked, belly looked at the both of us, I wanted to say no but Conrad had already insisted.

Conrad's pov
"My mom just wants us to grab these muffins and those casserole dishes to the table outside." I said pointing to the dishes. Y/n nodded and started helping me.
"Y/n, can I actually ask you something before we go back out?" I asked nervously, she placed the dish back down, "Sure Connie, what's up?" she asked.
I rubbed the back of my neck and smacked my lips together,
"I wasn't sure if you'd want to, um go on a date with me tomorrow night." I spat out, she blinked a couple times, shocked spread across her face.
"A date? but what about Nicole? I know she isn't your girlfriend but I swear at her party, I saw the both of you kissing connie ." y/n replied.
I didn't know what to say after that, standing there silent.
"I don't want her okay. Ive been waking up every morning with you on my mind & I can't help myself." I explained, y/n closed her eyes shut and held my hand.
"Conrad, I've always had a crush on you when we were kids, but so has belly... and I can't do that to her.I can't hurt her... and I can't hurt you, because I'm sure I have feelings for Jeremiah."
And there it was, a crack in my heart.
"You like Jeremiah?" Was all I could spit out.
Y/n gulped and placed her hand on my chest.
"I do Con. I'm sorry."
"Forget I even said anything." I replied before walking off.

Y/n pov
Stressed.
Everyone was here having a good time except  me. What was I suppose to do with the information i received from Conrad. I could feel him giving me the cold shoulder, but this was who he was. When something didn't go right, he'd fade, he'd do anything to distance himself.
Conrad knew I liked Jeremiah, before I could even tell Jeremiah that I liked him.
I zoned out so many times.
We were on the beach playing drinking games, Conrad sitting next to Nicole and giving her all his attention, I turned to see belly staring at them too. I could read it all over her face. She still loved connie.
"Let's play truth or dare." Nicole spoke up, I finally paid attention and the whole group agreed to the kids game.
They started playing but once again I zoned out, I kept thinking about how I rejected Conrad.
I can't believe he's interested in me, I don't think he made it obvious? I was in my head, stuck on the thought of connie liking me.
"Dare." Jeremiah said, replying to Shayla.
"I dare you to kiss.... Y/n." Shayla said cheekily.
Jere turned to face me, I felt my body tense up. I could feel Conrad's eyes on the both of us.
"Wouldn't that be weird Shayla? They're like family friends right? So it'd be like kissing your sister." Gigi commented.
Jeremiah chuckled, and my facial expression said it all.
"Y/n will be Mrs Fisher in a couple years." Jeremiah replied back at gigi.
"But anyway, back to my amazing dare." Jeremiah spoke up.
Those blue eyes stared at me, he quickly mouthed a 'can I kiss you?' he asked concerned, I nodded gently.
Jeremiah placed his fingers under my chin and we leaned in, my first kiss from him. It was perfect. It felt whole to me.
The group cheered and went 'Oweeee, aweeeee'.
Slowly but surely we pulled apart for air, he kept the eye contact as he pulled back, both of us smiling at one another.
"Okay, now that was steamy. " Nicole mentioned, I watched as Conrad stood up and headed back to the house. Drunk belly followed him, which meant Cameron followed along too.
