It was the next day, and excitedly I ran into Belly buttons room and jumped onto her bed.
"Happy Birthday my sweet jelly belly." I sang, she woke up and I wrapped my arms around my beautiful cousin.
"Happy birthday little one, now get up for your Mickey Mouse pancakes! And gifts! You're gonna love mine." I mentioned.
This year I gotten Belly a heap of make up and sets of earrings, she always asks to use my make up so why not buy her some, and she loved earrings, little cute flowery ones.
During belly's gift giving Conrad said he had forgotten it was her birthday... I saw the hurt in her eyes, not my poor baby belly.
Jere insisted to give her a driving lesson while they went to pick up Taylor from the bus station, on the other hand I chased Conrad to see what was up with him.
Following him to his room.
"Y/n, I'm in a rush, I have to meet up with Cleveland to show him how- Connie stop." I replied interrupting him.
"You seem, off. Are you okay? I can't believe you forgot her birthday, she looked so hurt." I spoke, Conrad flared his nostrils slightly, he looked down at me.
"Tell her I'm sorry okay." he whispered, I nodded a yes.
"I will...You know Connie, she's still goo goo gaga over you. Belly cares what you think of her and how you treat her." I explained. Conrad didn't say a word.
"She is?" He asked as if he was clueless.
Duh.
I feel like it was so obvious.
"You know y/n, growing up together I always thought that you had a crush on me." Conrad brought up smiling, my eyes widened.
"Yeah I actually did, when I was 10." I admitted.
"But that was a long time ago" I muffled under my breath.
"I'll see you later tonight for belly's birthday dinner." I brought up before walking off.
While everyone was doing their own thing, I was out by the pool journaling about how I feel, how my summer started.

Dear Journal,
My summer here in cousins has started off well. Jeremiah is the same old boy, making me laugh and smile every hour. I'm happy to be here with my cousins and aunty, family time is well needed. There's just a small part of me that reminds me of my sadness, that I'll never be good enough, for anyone. I never want to be cheated on again.

Closing my journal I sighed heavily, feeling triggered. I heard voices and saw Belly, Taylor and Jere walk through the garden gates near the pool.
"Hey Tay." I happily sung as I got up to hug her. Jeremiah wrapped his arms around my waist before pulling me into the water with him.
Gasping for air I reached the surface and splashed him in the face,
"JERE." I yelled with a smile.
He just gave me a warm smile back before placing me behind his back, giving me a piggy back ride.
The gang decided to play chicken and Conrad had brought his girlfriend Nicole over. I watched as they had fun, my feet swirling around in the water. Every now and then Jeremiah would swim over to my area, coming up to annoying me. Before you know it Taylor had slammed the volleyball into Nicole's face.
Running into the kitchen I grabbed a frozen bag of peas, con walked in.
"Your girlfriend is gonna need this."
Conrad licked his lips,
"Um, she's not my girlfriend." He commented sounding unsure. I brushed it off. Seemed to me like they were dating.

Later on that night we enjoyed belly's birthday dinner. She had pleaded all of us to attend Nicole's party, she especially begged me to come. Rummaging through my bags I searched for something to wear.
"Wear something short." Taylor commented as her and belly sat on my bed watching me get ready.
I laughed at Taylor's suggestion. Pulling out a white flowy dress the girls approved and I started changing.
I was sober driver tonight so I drove Jeremiah's car to Nicole's house. He was sitting in the passenger seat. Belly and Taylor went with Cameron, Steven went with Conrad. So it was just me and Jere.
I felt tension in the car, like something in the atmosphere had changed. Tonight I purposely dressed up to look cute for him. For Jeremiah.
"You look gorgeous y/n. I mean you look gorgeous everyday... but tonight wow." Jeremiah complimented me. I blushed and thanked him.
Time to party and have fun.
