You peeked your head through Kiyoshi's hospital room. Every time you saw him, in the hospital bed, it breaks your heart. You hate having to see him like that, but what can you do?? You walked inside the room with some flowers and candy.

"I'm here Teppei!" You said, putting a fake smile on your face. He smiled once he saw you.

"___-chan!! You're here early aren't you??" He asked, noticing the candy. You giggled to yourself, "Yeah haha, I have to do school stuff later so I decided to come early. Sorry." You laughed awkwardly, handing him the candy.

"Oohhh! You brought me my favorite! *gasp* And you brought me flowers!"

You set the flowers on the side table. "Everyone pitched in to buy the flowers, they're bummed out since they're not able to see you at the moment." You said, sitting on the chair that was near his bed.

"They have to practice for next year's inter-high huh?" He asked, opening the box of candy. He popped one in his mouth and looked like he was heaven.

"Delicious~" He cooed, "Do you want some ___-chan??" Kiyoshi asked, pointing at the box of candy.

You looked down, thinking.

'How is he still so happy? He won't be able to play basketball anymore...'

"___-chan??"

His voiced snapped you out of your thoughts.

"Are you okay??" He questioned, looking worried.

You put your hands together, beginning to shake.

"No I'm not okay. I hate seeing you like this. How can you wear a fake smile this whole time? You know, you could be sad, you could show sadness, why aren't you doing it now?! I know you're sad inside, so why are you smiling like this??" You spoke, voice cracking and lips quivering. You were at the brink of tears, but Kiyoshi stared at his leg.

"I am sad about not playing anymore. But that doesn't mean I have to affect you guys about my problems. I don't want to hurt you, so I just decided to keep it to my-"

You cut him off.

"But we're all your friends! I'm your girlfriend! Don't you consider us as family? You should be able to talk to us because of how close we are! We know you're devastated about not being able to do what you love, so tell us when things are rough!" Tears began streaming down your face.

"___-chan..."

You wiped your tears with your hand.

"Please just tell us when you're sad Teppei... It hurts even more when you don't tell us how you feel."

Kiyoshi smiled sadly, putting the box of candy next to him.

"Come here please." He said, reaching out his arms to you. You walked to him and he embraced you tightly.

"I'm sorry for hurting you ___-chan. The truth is, I'm really angry at myself." He admitted, clenching his teeth and shutting his eyes. You let go of his hug.

"But why?" You asked, noticing the tears beginning in his eyes.

"It was my fault that my leg got like this, I wasn't careful enough, I wasn't smart enough on how to take care of it! I was careless..."

You sniffled. "But that's not your fault Teppei."

"It is my fault. If none of this stuff would've had happened, then everyone will be happy. I would be enjoying basketball with you guys." Tears fell down his cheeks.

"Please stop blaming yourself! Listen to me," You grabbed his face, making sure he would comprehend what you were going to say, "None of this is your fault, so please stop feeling regret. We're your friends, so let us help you!" You pleaded, more tears falling.

Letting go of his face, you placed your head on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry." He apologized in between his sniffles, holding and squeezing you.

You two were there in that same position for the next 10 minutes, him repeating sorry, and you repeating that he shouldn't be.

"I'm sorry..."
