It's been 67 days since Kuroko has been hospitalized due to an accident on the bus. Not only that, but he's been unconscious for 65 of those days. He was going to meet you at the mall for your birthday, but the bus he was on went out of control and crashed into another passing bus. Kuroko and 14 others were on one bus, and 20 in the other. 4 were killed, 23 were severely injured, and 8 were left without a scratch.

You were sitting down near the fountain, waiting for Kuroko, until Kagami came running towards you.

And in that moment when Kagami told you the news, your heart dropped.

Kuroko had severe damage to his head, but it wasn't a problem until he passed out and couldn't wake up.

You had a bouquet of flowers in your hand as you waited outside Kuroko's door. You breathe deeply and opened the door, revealing Aomine and Momoi in the room.

"Hey guys." You greeted, trying to put a smile on your face.

Aomine was standing near Momoi, and she was sitting in the chair next to Kuroko's bed.

"Good afternoon ___-san." Momoi greeted. You smiled at her but Aomine stayed silent.

"Satsuki, we should leave now, let's give ___ some time with Tetsu." Aomine stated, beginning to walk to the door.

"You're right, then let's go. It was nice seeing you ___-san." Momoi got up from her chair and walked past you.

"See you guys later." You said right before they left the room. You gave Kuroko a sad smile and sat in the chair that Momoi was sitting in.

"Tetsuya-kun, I brought you some flowers, I hope you like them." You said to Kuroko, knowing you won't get an answer. "These kind of remind me of you, the flower lady said that they're white but I noticed that they have a slight blue tint to it."

Placing the flowers into the vase on the table near his bed, you sighed deeply. You grabbed Kuroko's hand and squeezed it lightly. The IV needles within his arm, the gauze wrapped around his head, Kuroko never deserved this. Feeling a tear fall down your cheek, you still kept a smile on your face.

"You said that I should always smile Tetsuya-kun, but right now...," Your voice and your body began shaking, "it's really hard for me." You rested your other hand on the side of his face, caressing it gently.

"I don't know if you'll wake up soon or not, not even the doctors do, but lately, I've been thinking that..." Releasing your grip on Kuroko's hand, you wiped your eyes. "Maybe it would've been best, if you and I never met." You admitted, an endless stream of tears falling down from your face.

You looked at Kuroko's sleeping face and cried more. "You're probably thinking the same thing huh? I know you well enough that you wouldn't want me going on like this."

You shut your eyes and placed your forehead on the space between Kuroko's body and the edge of the bed.

"You were my first Tetsuya-kun. We've had so many adventures these past 2 years. You were the first to take me to the amusement park, the first to take me to one of those fancy restaurants, the one who took my..." You laughed at the memory and sniffled. "That was an awkward moment for both you and me, but I'm glad that it was with you."

Right as you finished, you heard someone come in. You immediately got up and wiped your tears, realizing that it was the doctor.

"Hello ___-san. We did some tests regrading Kuroko-san's current condition."

"And what were the results?" You asked, trying to sound as positive as you can.

The doctor gave you a sad look and turned to Kuroko.

"From the results of our tests, we believe that it would best to let him go."

The doctors words made you freeze on the spot.

"His head has received fatal trauma, and most importantly, his brain has not been responding quick enough as we hoped it would. I'm very sorry ___-san. I'll notify his mother at once." And with that, the doctor left the room without another word.

Still couldn't believe what the doctor said, you sank to the ground, looking down.

"It'd be best...to let him go?" You whispered to yourself, finding your hands shaking. You placed a hand over your face, and broke down completely.

'This can't just be over!'

You got up from the ground and held Kuroko's hands with both of your hands.

"Please wake up Tetsuya-kun! Please! You and I still have so many things to do! You said nothing would ever tear us apart, but..." You took a deep breath again, "maybe us, we weren't meant to be at all..." You shut your eyes and tried to look away, but him, being by your side always gave you a reason to open your eyes and see the light in everyone and everything, but now, all you see is you and him in the hospital room.

You hugged Kuroko as tight as you can, making his get up from the bed a little.

"I love you so much, but from that day when we met, I wish that would have never happened. I wouldn't been feeling any of this pain, and you wouldn't have been here, in the bed. It's all my fault." You laid Kuroko's lifeless body down gently, heading to the door.

"I'll be okay, I promise." You gave Kuroko one last smile through your tears and left the room.
