"What's this light novel about Mayuzumi-senpai?"

You and Mayuzumi Chihiro have been good friends since you two were children. Not only that, but you've liked him in a romantic way when you reached your last year in middle school. But you didn't realize this until he entered his first year in Rakuzan, leaving you behind.

However, even though he doesn't like the honorifics you stated with his name, you still do it to show your respect towards him. Plus, you didn't have the courage to call him by his first name, even though he's been calling you by your first name since kids.

"You're asking me a question like that ____?" Mayuzumi asked, not looking up from his novel.

"Uh yeah? C'mon I'm curious!" You exclaimed while tugging at his sleeve. He sighed and closed the book to show you its cover. Looking at the cover of a girl and a boy, he answered your question.

"A princess saves her prince. A reversed role is more exciting in my opinion."

You grabbed the book out of his hands and turned it around, revealing the summary part of the book.

"They were in love. The prince and his princess were inseparable, no one was able to tear them apart because when they're together, they're as strong as any army in their kingdom. Until, the prince suddenly disappeared. And from that day on, the princess vowed to find him, no matter what it takes."

"OOHHHH THIS SOUNDS GOOD!" You screamed, tightly holding the book.

"Okay you don't need to scream, keep your voice down." Mayuzumi said to calm you down a little. You took a deep a breath and sparkles appeared in your eyes.

"Can I borrow it??" You asked hopefully, getting closer to him.

"No." He immediately answered, taking the book back from your hands.

"What why?!"

"One, I haven't finished it. And two, you don't need to read it, you just want to." He explained.

"But but pleaseeeeee? It looks really interesting! You know I'm into stuff like that." You pouted, rested your chin on your hand.

"Fine. You have two days to read the whole thing." Mayuzumi proposed, giving you a stern look. You smiled at his words and began shaking him by his shoulders.

"Yes!!!!" But then you suddenly realized something, and your smile disappeared. "Wait..."

"What?" Mayuzumi questioned.

"In two days, it's your graduation..."

"Oh yeah you're right," He said, putting a finger on his chin.

You looked down and put your hands on top of his. If he has to graduate and move on to a university in couple days then...

This is it. It needs to be done.

You've been waiting for a long time to confess your feelings to him. All you needed was a few seconds of courage to build up inside you. You thought about all the memories that you shared with him, the happy ones, the sad ones, the funny ones, the fights, everything you needed to strengthen your courage. And so, you took a deep breath and closed your eyes.

"Mayuz- no, Chihiro, we've known each other since we were kids. But it wasn't until you entered here, when I realized that..." You opened your eyes and looked up at him," That I love you."

After you said those words, you immediately looked back down to the ground, hiding your embarrassment.

"____," Mayuzumi stood up and put his hand on your head, ruffling your hair slightly, "I'm not good enough for you. You absolutely need someone better than me. I mean look at me."

Your eyes widened in disbelief. He is good enough. You fell in love with him. The way he talks, his personality and his interest, everything about him was what you loved the most. Why doesn't he believe it?

"You're wrong."

You stood up on your feet and furrowed your eyebrows, looking straight into his eyes. "I'm the one who isn't good enough for you. But I took that risk and confessed to you. Now please answer this question..." Cupping his cheeks with your hands, you continued, "Do you feel the same way?"

Deep down, you had a feeling that he sees you as a close friend, but you had a tiny bit of hope that he would return your feelings. If he doesn't feel the same way, what can you do about it? You would accept it. You wouldn't try to make him fall in love with you. Just being with him is enough to make you happy.

Mayuzumi slightly smiled and brought his index finger upon your face, trailing his finger down your face.

"Of course I do you idiot."

With that, he leaned into your lips and kissed you. You instantly began kissing back, savoring this moment that you awaited for so long. Pulling back first, you felt a tear of happiness fall down from your face. Mayuzumi took a notice of this and wiped your tear gently.

"I'm so happy." You admitted, smiling like an idiot.

"I could tell."

"You're obviously happy too, you barely smile!" You laughed, pointing at his handsome face.

"Well, you're clearly the one who makes me happy the most."

With those words, you blushed a deep red. How can he be comfortable saying that?!

"You're blushing."

"S-stop! You're going to make it worse..."
