Camelot Awakening

CHAPTER 8: Once and future Queen pt. 1

"Merlin! Can you please slow it downn" Tristan hurls, trying to hold it together.

"Steady, easy! Almost got it" Merlin controls his cottage to land in the woods of Camelot. The cottage lands safely. Tristan immediately runs out of the cottage and kissed the floor. 

"Oh sweet ground! Sweet ground!" Tristan smiles in relief, leaving Lancelot grin a bit. 

"Okay, Okay I get it. I'm still getting the hang of it here" Merlin rolled his eyes and made a grumpy sarcastic look on his face. 

Elaine looks over and noticed a castle out in the view, which was Camelot itself. She couldn't believe her eyes, they were here the visions felt so real. "Wow" 

Merlin turns to Lancelot "Sir Lancelot, I need you to take me and these two in, making it feel like you caught more intruders disobeying the laws"

Lancelot nods "Yes Merlin" 

"Wait- wait hold on intruders? What are you talking about" Tristan overhears the plan and walks to them. Merlin threw a disguise to him. 

"Young Squire here's your outfit"

"I don't understand, why do we need disguises Merlin?" Tristan wondered. 

"I'll get to that in a minute, Elaine come on over" Merlin calls for Elaine, the girl walks over holding her disguise. 

Merlin turned to face the trio "I need you all to listen to me. Sir Lancelot here is actually part of the knights of the round table in Camelot" 

Elaine's eyes widened surprised to hear thinking he was an actor during the festival. Lancelot noticed her and nods. 

"He's going to act as if all of us got caught disobeying laws. So let's try to stay in character" Merlin points out the plan. 

"If this is Camelot, shouldn't it be an easy way in for all of us, especially to the two of you?" Elaine was confused. Both Lancelot and Merlin looked at each other's. 

"Um Elaine here's the thing, Camelot has now been taken by a new King" Lancelot joins in the conversation, leaving the two friends in shock.

"What?!" Tristan and Elaine exclaimed in unison.

Tristan refuses to believe "I am so lost, I thought if someone would wield Excalibur, they'd become  the new king or queen like how Elaine literally pulled out Excalibur?" 

"It's complicated young squire, best to tell that story another time. Right now we have a kingdom to take back" Merlin reminded the team. 

"Alright this way" Lancelot begins leading the team towards the castle. Once they have arrived they were in shock to see it up close. Camelot.. was reigned over by dark shadows. Elaine was in complete shock to see the kingdom devastated. 

Tristan and Elaine were walking through the village in shock to see the people poor. Working all day and night. Suddenly one of the villagers grabbed a hold of Elaine's arm causing the girl to gasp.

"Please, please help us." The woman begs. Elaine didn't know what to say except stood there in shock to see people coming to her. 

"I'm sorry- I" The girl was speechless, Lancelot looks over and noticed Elaine in trouble. He quickly rushes over and pulls her away from the crowd. 

"What are you all doing? Mind your own buisness, and get back to work" The Knight gave out an order. The people all moved away. 

Lancelot turns to face Elaine "Elaine, are you alright?" 

Elaine nods "Yeah.. yeah I'm okay.. you shouldn't have spoken to them like that"

"I know. But we have stay in character." Lancelot reminded the girl, he holds her hands and the two followed up to the other's.
