Camelot Awakening

CHAPTER 9: Once and future Queen pt. 2

Everybody who caused a scene, has been thrown into the court room. 

To where King Mark sits back on the throne of Camelot. And he did not look too happy. Merlin told the two friends to play along. 

"Sir Lancelot, care to explain your insolence?" The King raised an eyebrow. 

Sir Lancelot didn't respond or say anything except look down. Elaine noticed him and was beginning to worry. 

"Very well, Stand up" King Mark states, Lancelot didn't move at all. The villagers were also in the room felt frightened and shock for the Knight. 

"I said stand!!" King Mark growls angrily as his voice echoes through the room. 

Lancelot exhales and stands up to face the King. King Mark gave the Knight a serious glare. 

"There is no honor, to what you are doing here in Camelot" Lancelot beamed. Everybody was surprised. 

King Mark scoffs "You dare defy orders from your own King?" 

"The only King I serve is Arthur. No one else, unless they are born royal to him" Lancelot defended King Arthur and his family. Tristan looks over at Elaine who had Excalibur with her. 

King Mark starts laughing at Lancelot, leaving everyone in the room quiet. Suddenly King Mark punches Lancelot in the face. Elaine's eyes widened.

"What were you thinking?!" King Mark growls. 

"I'm thinking from the heart" Lancelot exhales. 

King Mark chuckles "You are brave Sir Lancelot, brave enough to be fool that's for certain. You were my most responsible, loyal knight. And yet you continue to go behind my back like this?-" 

"No!!" Elaine's voice stopped their conversation, by standing up. King Mark hears the girl.

Merlin tries to pull Elaine back down "Elaine, what are you doing?! Sit back down this instant!"

King Mark slowly turns to Elaine who was standing, Lancelot noticed and worries. 

"I beg your pardon child?" King Mark raised an eyebrow. 

"You heard me. Lancelot is not responsible for this inconvenience introduction. I am" Elaine stands tall defending the Knight, and all eyes were now on Elaine. 

"Elaine.." Tristan calls for his friend.

King Mark slowly makes his way to Elaine giving her a glare. "And you are?" 

"The name's Elaine" Elaine introduces herself. King Mark glares at Elaine until he starts realizing she looks similar to King Arthur in a way. 

King Mark's eyes widened "How is this possible.." 

"I thought a King treats their people with kindness and respect" Elaine raised an eyebrow. "Not by yelling them into their faces" 

"And you insolent child, what do you know anything of what it's like to become royalty?" King Mark wondered. 

"I know royalty does not talk back" Elaine beams again to King Mark. 

"Oooooh, burned" Tristan chuckles proudly at his friend. King Mark turned to Tristan who looked away. 

"Why you-" He has had enough and he lifts his hands up, gripping it into a fist, but was stopped by Merlin. 

"I wouldn't lay a hand on her!" 

Merlin decided to reveal himself to Cornwall. King Mark was surprised "Of course, Merlin"

"It's been a long time, Mark" the warlock glares at the King. 

"How is life in exile, must pretty exciting no?" Cornwall laughs. 

Merlin grips his hands into a fist "Leave the children be, and you have me to answer too" 

"Honestly Merlin, you should know me by know, do you really think I'd let you all go that easily?" King Mark grins evilly. Elaine was not in the mood to this new King of Camelot. 

"I am the most powerful King of Camelot here, no one else." King Mark declares, Elaine refuses to let this vicious man to be King. 

"Not if I have anything to say about it" Elaine pulled Excalibur out to show the other's. The villagers, assistants, were all surprised by the sword.

As Elaine aims her sword at King Mark, guards step forward aiming all their swords at Elaine. 

"You're not afraid, little girl?" King Mark chuckles. 

"Clearly running away from problems won't make things better. Why not face them with full confidence?" Elaine stood tall glaring at King Mark.

King Mark cross his arms, and was in his thinking positions. "Alright then" 

"Since you refuse to accept and obey the laws of Camelot. Which is to obey to your King, then I give the Pyrolyx!" King Mark raised his hands. Everyone gasped.

"The Pyrolyx? What's that?" Tristan turns to Merlin. 

Merlin placed his hands on his face "Something not good"

Lancelot walks over to Elaine "Elaine, for your own safety withdraw now"

"I'm sorry Lancelot, but I can't. I understand now why I need to be here. The people need me, they need us" Elaine and Lancelot looked at each other's worryingly.

"A duel, a fight to finish for the throne itself" King Mark raised his hands and faces Elaine "What say you Lady Elaine?"

A fight to finish.. Elaine was in shock, she stood quiet for the moment. She knew the people needed help. Her friends. She couldn't stand by and watch King Mark enslave the people of Camelot like this. She knew she had to do something about. 

Tristan walks to his friend "Elaine.. this time it seems too serious withdraw seriously"

Elaine exhales "I accept your challenge"

"You now have a new challenger for the throne" Elaine declared. King Mark nods.

"Looking forward it." King Mark grins evilly "I shall see you very soon, Elaine." 

A guard came to inform the King Mark and he begins to leave the room, leaving Merlin and the team, and Elaine even more overwhelmed. Knowing she is put into a position to where she has to fight to finish. This shows Elaine, is a picture of a strong woman who fights for what is right, and for the good of her people.
