While it was nice to havea different dream, it quickly changed for the worse.

At first, I found myselfin front of a wooden door at the end of a hallway, not sure what tothink of it. I walked towards it and opened it. Once I opened thedoor, I bathed in a blinding light. When my eyes got adapted to thenew lighting hitting them, I saw I was in a verdant, open field. Thesky was a shade of jade blue, and the grass was in a shade of tealgreen. Mountains all around covered the background of the field inall directions that matched the grass color but were slightly sulliedby the rocky earth. A cool breeze also brushed me off; it felt likethe same one that brushed me before when entering Dreamside. Itcouldn't be that something connected this wind to the dreams.

As I turned around to seethe door I came through, the door was no longer there and instead sawa youthful oak tree with a little girl next to it facing away fromme. She looked around four to five years of age and dawned a dress ofnoble attire. I walked towards her, and she turned towards me.

"Oh, hello theregracious lady, I'm Zelda," the little girl said, "Mother juststepped away a bit to get us food, So I'm waiting here watching theouter fields while she returns."

My eyes widened asmemories flooded into my mind like a torrent of rushing water. Iremembered that my mother, the Queen of Hyrule, wanted to have apleasant time on the upper points of Hyrule Castle Town, where asmall, lush park with an oak tree was on top of the hillside. Thiswas roughly around the time when the Great Civil War was about tocome to pass. As I was young, I remember little of it as they pushedme back into Hyrule Castle for my protection. I recall a dream orvision that presaged this conflict, but then I woke up because of it,causing me to cry and scream to no end. I tried to mention it toFather, but he comforted me, saying it was a nightmare and it willsoon pass. Pessimistic to say, that dream came to pass as all racesof Hyrule all fought for control of the land, and many lives werelost.

Then, before I could askmore of my younger self, she and the tree faded into a windy mist. Iturned around to find her only to see the Kakariko Village Graveyardwith a slightly older me that looked to be about the age of eight, with my father next to me. I walked over to talk to them.

"Oh, hello there fellowcitizen," My Father responded. "Sorry if we are making a scene,we were just reminiscing of my late Queen of Hyrule."

"Father, I told youMother was sick," My younger self replied, "I had a dream of it,and you just told me it's only a nightmare, and it would pass. Whywon't you take my dreams with some apprehension?!"

I recall being furiouswith my father for some time. I spent more time with my newcaretaker, Impa, after that. She knew what my needs were for the day.She even whistled a tune that could calm me down, which she calledthe tune Zelda's Lullaby.

Then the scene dispersedin the mist. I was now wondering why I was being shown any of thesememories, who or what wanted me to see the dreadful side of my life. Before I could come up with an answer, another scene appeared out ofthe mist. This one showed my father being defeated by the man withthe evil eyes named Ganondorf before I fled with Impa out of HyruleCastle Town.

"You are not gettingaway!" Ganondorf yelled as he chased after us. "The Triforce willbe mine!"

As you know from theother records, I threw Link the Ocarina of Time to keep it away fromGanondorf's hands, but he still gained the Triforce of Powerdespite everything I did to prevent it.

Soon my answer wouldappear as to why I saw these memories. I came to the horriblerevelation and started crying on the ground. "Everything, everything in my life has only caused ruin for not only me, buteveryone around me. I'm the Princess of Destiny, but why did everydream I had become a nightmare?"

"Do you want to know?"Said a voice that seemed to come out of my mouth. "It is because ofwhat you tried to suppress into me."

As I looked up, I saw myreflection talking to me.

"Who are you?" Idemanded, "And what do you mean by suppressing into you?"

"I'm yoursubconscious self. I guess you can call me by what you call all baddreams, A Nightmare." The figure continued. "For many years, anyfears you had got put into me, I've had to deal with your darktimes of life. Each time before you had to take care of those fears, you would wake up out of the dream and disappear, while I had tocontain the fears. Well, no more. It's time you faced them, and Iwon't let you wake until you do. It is the price you will pay forhow this cursed dream world works."

As she kept talking, Ifelt a loss of control as I changed into my younger self one afterthe other. I fell to the ground and screamed as loud as I could."HELP ME! PLEASE!"

It seemed the Nightmareenjoyed my anguish and laughed as I kept changing. Then a glowingcircle came down close to me. As I tried to investigate the ring oflight, I saw the image of Rem as she came out of the circle towardsme. "I'm coming Princess." Rem yelled, "I'll get you out ofthe dream, hold on!"

The Nightmare yelled inanger, "Curse you Sage of Dreams" She yelled, "You will notstop me this time!" She summoned statues that caused thesurrounding fields to color into a bright red & orange, with thestatues coming to life & summoning blades of their own. Thenmoved towards me and Rem.

Rem was quick and pulledout a claw device from her pocket. She used the claw device to pullme back into the circle, then she used her hand, which was glowingwhite, to do something to me as we both disappeared into the sky andout of the dream.
