A lightmet my eyes, blinding me as both me and Rem continued through thegate. When my vision came to, I noticed that we were in some sort ofpeach-coloured clouds. I looked around to find there was no moreground under me while seeing Rem laying next to me with her backtowards what would be the ground level, smiling towards me. As soonas I realized that I was in the sky, the thoughts of falling floodedmy mind and started to panic until Rem called out to me.
"Stay Calm, Princess,"Rem explained, "You are perfectly safe, just let the clouds supportyou and relax like I am doing. Trust me, I have been through theseclouds plenty of times. Try rolling around on your back."
I did as Rem explainedand felt clouds pushing on my back. It was the most calming feeling Ihave ever felt. As I rolled over, I saw my outfit had changed fromthe dark blue garb into a green dress tunic with a light bluearmoured top and arm brace. It made me feel freer than I have everfelt before.
"How do you feel now,Princess?" Rem Asked.
"I feel so free." Ireplied, "I never felt like this before. Why did my outfit change?"
"That outfit is yourdream garb," Rem explained. "It changes into what is on yourmind."
I replied, "mentioningthat Link has been occupying my thoughts recently. rThese clouds aresomething I have never encountered during my sleep."
"This area is calledthe Lucid Sky," Rem explained "Most people do not have thetraining to experience lucid dreaming so when they start dreaming, they already arrive at a random place and never see these clouds orthis sky, it is utterly amazing. This is why you enter the dreamworldwith me, so that we would end up at the same place as the pillars. Ifyou walked to the dream gate without training, who knows where youwould end up?"
"I will need sometraining then. As I ended up in a random field near a dark hallway, when I fell asleep in the guest room." I said, "Dreams are socomplex; it makes my mind wonder with questions."
"Well, people haven'tfully explored the Dreamworld to this day," Rem replied as sherolled over to look downward. "Even I haven't seen everything,"Rem replied as she rolled over to gaze downwards. "Well, ourdestination is in view. Roll back around and grab my hand, Princess."
I rolled back over andsaw what Rem was seeing and my eyes went wide open with wonder.
The clouds parted as acolourful field came into view, filled with flowers of many coloursand trees with small castles dotting the landscape. Looking around, Isaw a huge mountain range to the south, an expanse of ocean cove tothe east, a dark green forest to the north, to the west looked like ahuge canyon with floating islands inside of it and in the southwest Isaw a vast desert with rolling sand dunes. It was so beautiful andwanted to look around in the sky more, but then we started to glidedown towards a raised garden area with interlaced brickwork and a lotof flowers and trees. We landed on our feet and still marvelled atthe size and wonder of the land.
"Well, Princess Zelda,"Rem said, "Welcome to the Dreamworld. What do you think? Are you sospeechless?
"I... I..." I couldnot find the words to express my thoughts. This place was so vivid."This place is so big! I have never seen such an expanse of landall over the place. How are we ever going to find my subconscious inthis place?"
"Well, the plan is,"Rem started to explain "My Pillars will branch out to the 4 cornersof the world where a pillar stands, they will activate them to findthe area your subconscious is in, then with the Dreamwaker thatAsler, you and I will obtain, we will meet up back here and merge youback together and return to the real world"
The Pillars allnodded as they separated. "See you soon, everyone, safe dreams"Then Rem looks back at us.
"All right, we areheading north towards the forest region," Rem explained. "Thosewoods are called the Vision Woods. Now these woods act like the LostWoods in Hyrule, where if you cannot overcome the path of the woods, you will find yourself at the entrance. Any questions, Princess?"
"I do have one," Iasked. "I have been feeling a weird, calm wind at times, not sure, what it means."
"Oh, the wind?"Rem replied, "With my knowledge of the Dreamworld, the winds cansymbolize a lack of control in one's life, either in an uncheckedforce or traumatic event. Other than your subconscious breaking awayfrom you, what else could be troubling you?"
"Well, it'sjust thinking of Link after I sent him back into the past." Ianswered, "I did it so he could have a childhood that was takenfrom him by the Master Sword. I just did not want him to haveanything more stolen from him, and I am the one to blame for him. Isent him to get those sacred emblems and Ganondorf followed himeverywhere just to see him frozen in time while the Triforce leftunguarded," As I continued, dark clouds appeared above me "I feelI just keep ruining the lives of everyone and all this from thenightmare war, Ganondorf's rein, Link lost to time for seven years, its just mentality draining me to know end and..."
Rem grabbed my arm, andthe clouds went away. "You are not at fault for what has happened. You were handed a fated hand and did the best you could."
I calmed down and allthree of us headed to the Vision Woods, where my fate would beevaluated. As we came face to face with the wood's entry, I feltextremely nervous and shaking. Rem looked at me with a serious look.
"Now Zelda, you mustcollect your thoughts. Both me and Asler will be always at yoursides, but it is up to you to navigate the trials of the woods to getinto the inter sanctum, where the Dreamwaker will be. It will be upto you. If you fail, we all will be back at the entry to the woods."
With that, I swallowed mypride as we all walked into the woods and suddenly, everything wentfoggy.
