Sunflower - Post Malone, Swae Lee

JULIANNA'S POV

We're sitting around the table at Oscar's house, since it was his home race, playing UNO and making fun conversation. Charles is sitting on my right, Gianna on my left, Lando next to her, then, as I've learnt, Oscar, Lily Z. (his girlfriend), Kika (Pierre's Girlfriend), Pierre, Daniel Ricciardo, Max, his girlfriend Kelly, Lily H., followed my her boyfriend, Alex, Carlos, Rebecca (his girlfriend), Yuki Tsunoda and George Russell.

Upbeat music is playing through Pierre's portable speaker— 'Sunflower' by Post Malone to be exact. It's a grid favourite, apparently, as the boys all sing the lyrics flawlessly and with great enthusiasm. The girls are all lovely, with Kika and I particularly clicking— she's gorgeous, and it doesn't surprise me at all when she tells me that she's a model. In fact, all of them could be models; they're beautiful, and all so kind. Alex's Lily and I also get along extremely well too, and she's so funny.

They call them WAGs— wives and girlfriends. Here's to hoping Charles makes me his WAG soon. Maybe Lando will beat him to it with Gianna; the way they're acting toward one another is enough to convince anyone that they're in a long-term, loving relationship.

"Uno!" Gianna calls out, placing her last card, a green four, down atop the messy deck in the middle.

"Again?!" Groans erupt around the circle— it's her third win in four games.

"Honestly guys," she teases. "Are you guys sleeping or something? I've got no competition here,"

"Hey, I won one!" Alex says, causing the group to laugh.

We start forgetting about the playing cards, falling deep into a get-to-know-each-other session.

"Julie," Pierre starts. "Are you two French or do you guys just live in Paris?"

"I'm French, but I spent my primary to secondary school days in England,"

"So that's where your British accent is from," Alex says.

"Yeah, a lot of people get confused, it's not just you guys don't worry," I answer.

"That's pretty cool though," someone says.

"Kind of, I guess," I shrug off.

"When did you start getting into music and shit?" Yuki asks.

"I was forced into piano classes the second I could walk pretty much. Plus, my dad played the piano too, and my mom plays the violin— well, used to, but not anymore. And my... someone I knew, would sing all the time, so I just grew up around the music world," I cut myself off quickly before I slip up, and Gianna gives me a knowing look.

"Your dad doesn't play anymore?" Alex asks innocently, and I'm glad no one but Gianna caught on to the latter part of my explanation.

"My dad actually passed," I answer softly.

"Oh," he blinks. "I'm so sorry for asking,"

"No it's alright," I give the group a small smile. "It's been a long time; I've made peace with it,"

They give their apologetic smiles, and I take it as my cue to cut the silence off before it begins to fester.
