In the name of Futakotamagawa, there was a legend of the Kappa.
The Kappa would come occasionally, gladly scaring the locals as they threw their dishwater, soaking them with fresh water then running away like that.
While the Kappa is malicious, locals came up with the idea to build a trap to catch them and make them suffer.
The Kappa lived in the depths of the Tama River, where mother nature grounded life.
However, as garbage human chatter echoed through the freshwater, the grounding weakened, upsetting the Kappa.
The Kappa knew humans also needed grounding in place of what they receive, in their eyes, in their ears.
By scourging the freshwater into their dishwater, and listening carefully to the flow, the Kappa empowered themselves with the wisdom of mother nature.
The Kappa came out to scare the locals once again, even freezing their living life.
"See upon the light of mother. Hear upon the chatter of father. The truth is in your body."
The locals were even more scared, forgetting the plot of building a trap, as they offered the Kappa the entire river, yearning for them to forgive.
The Kappa accepted the offer, and splashed the locals with water again, this time giving them the wisdom.
Since then, the Kappa never showed their face ever again, to the locals' curiosity.
