Being sad is not what most people believe,
it is not the inability to be happy
it is instead the knowledge of what happiness is,
of knowing what it feels like
and not being able to experience it at its fullest.
When one is truly sad they don't cry constantly
they can laugh and smile and love
but in the back of their mind they will know,
they will always know,
There is more and I am missing it.
Being sad, truly sad, is seeing a beautiful picture
and only being able to appreciate half of the colors,
knowing that there are ten times more shades
and realizing you are suddenly colorblind,
well not suddenly, it is a slow process
you have been slowly going colorblind
without knowing and now that you do
you can't go back.
Being sad is not what people think
it is so different that most will not even realize
that they are sad until they do
and then it is too late.
I can't see colors,
I don't think I ever did
