RECKLESS RELATIONSHIP...

Thinking about the love God has for us always puts a smile on my face. The way He provides for us, protects us, speaks to us if we listen closely. The smile on my face widens when I think of the particular times I have been conscious of His works around me. I know, without a doubt, in these moments that God is good. The smile on my face remains broad until I think about it from my end.

The author of this book is also on her never ending journey with God and most times, it's a one-sided-effort kind of relationship. You know the kind where you keep calling this particular person, checking up on them but they don't reciprocate. Yes, that kind. There are days that I don't read my bible. Days where I don't set out time to actually talk to God, I just drop a quick prayer and zoom off. God loves me so much, I know I love Him as well but I let things distract me from being in His presence consistently.

I know there are people like me out there. Those who want a perfect relationship with God. Those who wish to reciprocate the exact love He has for us but then they find themselves distracted. Maybe you don't spend enough time with God or you sin and you're too scared to ask for forgiveness because you feel He will never forgive you or maybe you don't even try anymore because you feel you can never be the perfect child. We are reckless with our relationship with Him but God, being a merciful father, is always waiting for us to come to Him.

I know we will never be perfect but we can always strive for perfection. Join me, let's do our best and be intentional with building our relationship with God. Let's read our Bible more, meditate on it more, pray more, spend more quiet time with God and also share his word more. Remember, more than the act, it's the intentionality and our hearts that matter. Don't be overly religious. Don't do things just so that you can get it over with or just because others are doing it. Do these things because you understand them and know their significance. God loves you and He will always love you but what about you? Do you love God and seek a relationship with Him? Do you love Him enough to amend your ways and draw closer to him? If so, how do you do it? Share with us in the comment section.

God bless you.
