#5: Mental Health

Everyone was sitting in the lounge, silence filled the air, making it feel thick and heavy, the light above them flickered from time to time, the light was just bright enough to see tiny dust particles float around aimlessly. Soon the suffocating silence was disturbed by the sound of footsteps.

They all glanced over in the direction of the incoming steps. Soon Sun had entered the portion outside the daycare where everyone was sitting, he took a quick glance at the net surrounding the daycare, looking down at the barrier. He clenched his fist, re-instating the usefulness of the barrier. Soon , slowly but surely, the crack in the barrier was soon eradicated.

Sun took a deep breath, and glanced back at his family, they all had their eyes on him, making him feel uncomfortable, "Um...hey?" He smiled, scratching the back of his head. "How are you feeling?" Earth asked, she seemed slightly exhausted...emotionally.

Sun put his hands on his hips, and gave a big smile, trying to make himself seem as happy and as enthusiastic as possible with his slowly deteriorating mental state. "I feel fine! why do you ask?" He said with a disgustingly happy tone. The silence becoming suffocating once again.

Sun glanced at Moon with pleading eyes, this was getting super awkward, Moon cocked his head to the side, and Sun watched as his eyes flickered at the empty spot next to him on the couch.
Sun quietly and quickly walked over to his brother and sat himself next to him.

Solar gave Sun a hard glare, Sun conformed to this weird staring contest, "Um...wha- what's up?" Sun asked quietly, he had never experienced a moment as awkward as this, at this point he kinda wished he could leave. 'What if I just go and get myself killed...' Sun thought...what in the world was this invasive thought. 'I'm to tired for this...' He thought. 

Then he heard a thump on the door next to them, that led to the maintenance room. "T-tak-take a- a- a- m- ma- map." He heard a distorted voice say. This caused Sun to jump up out of his seat and grab the nearest pole, and face towards the door. "KILL IT! KILL IT!" Sun heard himself shout, shutting his eyes tight. 

Moon noticed how scared Sun had gotten, his hands were trembling violently. Moon stood up and sighed, and grabbed Sun's arm and made him lower his weapon. "It can't get in here. that way is blocked too." Moon assured his brother. Sun gave him a look, and then blushed a bit. "Oh..." He chuckled. Solar bursted out laughing. 

"You don't even know if that thing is infected. Why are you so scared?" He asked Sun. Sun gave him a cold glare. "Map-bots...are terrifying..." Sun said in a whisper. "Does Eclipse talk to you?" Lunar asked. Sun froze, this sudden and unexpected question stunned him. "Wha- what?" He tried to gather his bearings and glanced over at Lunar, who was hunched over, with a hand on his chin. Lunar sat back and laid his head against Solar's arm.

"Eclipse...he said he would download himself into something...because he knew you guys would have a plan to kill him..." Lunar said, Sun honestly didn't know what to say. "Uhm..." Sun gently wringed his wrists out of nervousness, and scratched the back of his neck. Sun glanced to the back of the room, Eclipse leaned against the wall, waved at Sun and gave him a toothy grin. 

Sun shifted his gaze back to Lunar. "N-no. why would I see him?" Sun said, calming himself down, and talking as if he had nothing to hide. "You keep talking and yelling at yourself...if you were infected...you would at least look sick at this point. But that doesn't seem to be the case." Solar chimed in. "It's...um....Bloodmoon..." Sun sighed. 

The mention of Bloodmoon's name made Moon tense. Earth took a sharp inhale and gave Sun a horrified look. Lunar looked worried and concerned, he fiddled with his hands, and stared at the floor. "Why haven't you said anything to me?" Moon asked calmly, trying not to sound angry.

"Well...um...because...um..." Sun panicked. "I'm gonna go clean.." He whispered and quickly power-walked over to the slide. "Sun!" Moon raised his voice. Sun froze, and slowly turned back to face his brother. His face showed a horrified expression... 'Was he mad, was he gonna walk over here and hit me, he's gonna hit me, he's upset, I messed up again. crap crap crap...' Thoughts rushed through Sun's head. 

"I don't want you overworking yourself. Especially when we have this virus going around. You don't want to talk? okay, but please...come sit down..." Moon said in a caring and soft tone. He wanted to at least keep Sun in his sight. He didn't feel comfortable with that cleaner bot down there...

Sun fiddled with his hands again. Then he began organizing stuff around their area. Like, moving the couches, putting bottles in the recycle bin. Stacking random napkins. Moon cleared his throat, sending chills down Sun's back, Sun quickly ran over to Moon and sat next to him. "Sorry...I'm sorry...." Sun whispered. Moon wrapped his arms around his brother, receiving a gasp from the yellow daycare attendant.

'What's wrong with me...' Sun thought...'Moon has changed so much...he's not the same Moon as before...' He sighed, hugging his brother back, tears pricking the corners of his eyes. 'And yet...I'm still so scared of him....'
