As Aria returned to the humble servant's quarters after her encounter with General Kael, she couldn't shake the feeling of defiance that had welled up inside her. The room she shared with the other servants was small and sparsely furnished, a stark contrast to the opulence of the rest of the castle.

A fire crackled in the hearth, casting a warm glow over the room and bathing it in a sense of comfort and familiarity. Aria sank onto her bed, her mind racing with thoughts of her encounter with the general. She couldn't understand why he had affected her so deeply. His cold demeanor and dismissive attitude should have been enough to deter her, but instead, they had only fueled her determination to prove herself.

As she stared into the flickering flames, memories of her past flooded back to her. She remembered the day she had been orphaned, left alone in the world with no one to care for her. She remembered the hardships she had endured, the struggles to survive in a world that had often been cruel and unforgiving.

But she also remembered the strength and resilience that had carried her through those dark times. She had faced adversity head-on, refusing to be defeated by the challenges life had thrown at her.

Aria tossed and turned in her bed, trapped in the grip of a nightmare. In her dream, she stood alone in a vast, desolate landscape, the sky above swirling with dark, ominous clouds. A figure approached her, its eyes glowing a bright green that seemed to pierce her very soul.

"I'm waiting for you," the figure said, its voice cold and menacing.

Aria tried to scream, but no sound escaped her lips. She felt a chill creep up her spine as the figure drew closer, its presence filling her with a sense of dread.

With a start, Aria jolted awake, her heart pounding in her chest. She sat up in bed, her body drenched in sweat, trying to shake off the remnants of the nightmare that still clung to her. As she looked around the room, she noticed a movement out of the corner of her eye. She turned towards the window, her breath catching in her throat.

Behind the curtains, a figure stood, watching her with intense, glowing eyes. Aria's blood ran cold as she realized that the figure from her nightmare had somehow manifested itself in the waking world.

Aria's heart pounded in her chest as she approached the curtains, her hand trembling as she reached out to pull them back. To her relief, there was no one behind them, only the moonlight streaming in through the window, casting a soft glow over the room.

But as she turned away, her eyes fell upon the wall next to the window. There, etched into the stone, was a symbol she had never seen before. It was intricate and mysterious, its lines flowing together in a pattern that seemed to pulse with an otherworldly energy.

Aria felt a chill run down her spine as she stared at the symbol, a sense of foreboding settling over her. She knew that this was no ordinary marking; it was a sign, a message from the unknown forces that seemed to be guiding her path.

She reached out a tentative hand, tracing the lines of the symbol with her fingers. As she did, a strange sensation washed over her, like a whisper in the back of her mind, urging her to uncover the secrets that lay hidden within its ancient design.

Determined to unravel the mystery, Aria fetched a piece of parchment and charcoal from her belongings and began to sketch the symbol with meticulous care. She knew that this was no mere coincidence; the symbol was a clue, a key that would unlock the secrets of her past and her future.

As the first light of dawn began to filter through the window, Aria completed her sketch, the symbol now captured on the parchment in all its intricate detail. She knew that she had taken the first step on a journey that would lead her into the heart of darkness, but she was ready. Ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead and ready to embrace the destiny that awaited her in the land of Azura.
