[AN: So I know I said based this on Greek mythology but it's becoming more loose with each plot point I write. I know how I want the story to play out and have 2 chapters (not including this one) planned out. I want to add semi-demonic entities that I can sprinkle in the underworld because I want her to have someone to talk to and make the story not boring, also another character I have planned isn't really based off Greek mythology at all so this is really just becoming a fantasy book with Greek mythology sprinkled in. Hope that's not disappointing]

[AN2: I have an anecdote I wish to share and it doesn't fit the vibes of the other AN o it gets its own. I'm in a musical (Don't know if that will surprise anyone) because I apparently hate myself having spare time. I needed to talk to the choreographer (a man I know has a college degree) and I basically said that I couldn't do jumps because it flares up my chronic pain, he looks me in the eyes and said 'is it temporary'. I kind of stared at him for a minute then said 'no' and it was fine but it just really shocked me that an adult man with a college degree wouldn't know that]

June had spent the last few hours clutching onto the side of the boat, screaming Danae's name until her voice grew hoarse.

It would be so easy to let go and drift away but she needed to find Dani. Where was she? Did something happen to her?

June hoped Dani was just holding onto the hull around the other side and the wind was drowning out her shouts. That was why June couldn't see or hear her. She was just out of reach but safe for the most part. Though she couldn't check for fear of being thrown off, left to keep herself afloat until she sank.

The rain had gotten milder at least, but she was still soaked to the bone. The water was freezing. Somehow the weather had changed so drastically from the sunny skies they had basked in that morning. It had been such a good day yet knocked her and Dani into the water.

She tried to remember the last time she saw her. Dani had stood up and the boat tipped. Many things could of come from that. Maybe she had floundered for a bit before grabbing the side like June. Or Maybe she was underneath holding onto the plank across the centre, safe from the rain. Or maybe she was stuck further, kicking to keep her head up. No she had to be by the boat.

She just needed to hold on and wait for the weather to clear.

Yes the storm was terrifying. But. In a way. It was kind of pretty. The sun was setting through the clouds, casting the sky in a deep orange. With all that had happened at least Dani had gotten her sunset. But it was also an omen. Darkness  would fall soon and they would truly be stuck.

June tried to ignore the chill in her legs and unpleasant weight of her wet hair that dripped down her back. To think about happy things. That's what they said wasn't it, if you found yourself in a bad situation think happy thoughts. Slightly useless in its vagueness but still something that could be put into practice.

She would swim to shore, dragging Dani with her once she was found. Then they'd walk home. June would get a blanket for Dani and wood from the box indoors. She'd take the wood to the fire pit and light them. They would sit in front of the embers, hand in hand, whether silent or chatting June wouldn't care. She'd just be glad that they were together.                                                    Then they'd sleep. And rise with the sun. She'd go into town, to Demetria's home. Maybe Dani would join her after seeing the chickens. Perhaps she'd bring some eggs for Auntie.                           Auntie would be thrilled if she did, even if she didn't Demetria loved Dani. Welcomed her with open arms. Then-

The rain had stopped.

And so had the wind, for the most part. She let out a deep shaky breath and let go of the boat. June wiped the water from her eyes and greeted the world around her. It hadn't really changed from before- large expanses of ocean all around. But the sky was lighter. Clouds softer. The anger had faded but was not lost.
