Before we dive into the story, I'd like to make a few disclaimers. I do not own Skyrim or any of its trademarked characters. I've drawn inspiration from various Isekai (transmigration) stories on Webnovel, and I want to thank the talented artists on that platform for their hard work and dedication. Their efforts motivate me to update my stories more frequently, and I'm grateful to my readers for their patience and support.
This story will include some sci-fi elements to better explain the heroes' transmigration. The narrative won't begin with the fall of Helgen. Instead, our heroes will forge their own path to becoming Dragonborn. As the main characters are twins, it makes sense that both will share the Dragonborn destiny. A few spoilers: the first dragon, Mirmulnir, will unlock the Thu'um ability for both characters, and the distribution of dragon souls will be a significant part of their journey. Additionally, the characters who escape with the player at the start of the game will have escaped together, albeit reluctantly.
In my version of Tamriel, the world will span an entire planet with no boundaries, so improvisation might be needed if the adventure takes us beyond Skyrim and Solstheim. The landscape will be larger, with more expansive areas, making travel between holds more realistic and time-consuming. I will keep journey descriptions brief, especially during urgent missions. Any references to items or places not found in vanilla Skyrim are due to mods I currently use, which may add more quests and items than usual. However, I will introduce these gradually to avoid confusion. The main characters will gain materials and equipment through hard work initially and, later, by hiring craftsmen as they accumulate wealth.
If you're familiar with "The Rise of The Shield Hero," you'll recognize some game mechanics, but they will only be useful to an extent. Chests will function like in the game, but inventory weight limits will apply. New items inspired by our world will be added, though I will strive to keep everything lore-friendly.
One more crucial detail: with the expanded land space, villages, towns, and cities will grow, resulting in a larger population and new characters. I will introduce these elements as needed, but please remember that while this is still the world of Tamriel, it will differ from the game. The main characters will face real people, places, enemies, and dangers.
With all that said, I hope you enjoy the story as we embark on a new and exciting adventure in a familiar yet expanded world.
P.S. I am American, so I will use American measurements (miles, feet, inches, yards, cups, liters, gallons, etc.). Part 2 of "A Strange Start" will be the longest chapter so far, containing nearly all the Isekai explanation information. Some chapters will be longer than others, but this one is especially lengthy due to the necessary exposition.
Any images in or above my chapters are sourced from Google Images, and if they are from mods, I will provide the mod info at the end of those chapters. I may update this page with additional information as needed. Please enjoy the story!
