What happened?

There was a Police man and another man in the dining room. They were asking questions and I was mindlessly answering them. I had no idea what I was even saying. I was sitting on the big rug that my mom had placed in the dining room as my dad continued talking to the police officer. There was another knock on the door and a few men walked in with a gurney. I was getting even more scared as time went on. Now of the paramedic men walked up to me and put on an oxygen cannula. I was wondering why he was doing this just as I realized how fast my breathing and heart rates were.

"Okay Samantha, on the count of three we're going to help you get up and get you to the gurney okay?" One of the paramedic men was talking to me.

"U-huh," I replied as I tried to get up. I fell over.

"No no no. We'll help you. Lets count to three now." He was being very patient with me.

"Oh." I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

"Okay, here we go. One. Two. Three." Two paramedics pulled me up by my underarms. They didn't let go. I'm pretty sure I would have fallen over if nobody was holding me up. "Do you think you can make it to the bed?" I shook my head yes, not knowing what else t say. I put one foot in front of the other... Or so I thought. I stepped on my own foot and almost tripped myself. Thankfully the two men were holding me up. "It's okay, we've got you." Now I was starting to freak out. They got me to the gurney and lifted me up so I was laying flat on my back then strapped me down. I closed my eyes and drifted off for a few seconds.

I woke up as soon as the men were putting the gurney in the ambulance. There was a lady paramedic in there. She started asking me questions as soon as the gurney was watched down. I answered them the best I thought I could. I almost forgot my birthday and my middle name. She started attaching sticky things with wires to my body.

"Samantha, can you try to slow your breathing? Take in long deep breaths." I didn't listen. I didn't feel like I could. I needed air. The thing sticking up my nose wasn't doing anything.

The woman paramedic started an IV line in my left arm and put a blood pressure cuff on my arm also. I don't remember her putting it on, just that it was there when I looked over.I felt the blood pressure cuff take my pressure about every ten minutes. I looked up at the monitor and I knew it was very high. My heart rate was also very high. I wasn't even moving. It was all part of the side effects, I knew. I couldn't help what was happening to me anymore. I felt like I was dying and it was terrible. I need to say a proper goodbye to Rory, my mom's going to hate me forever. What will my brother do with my puppy? There were a million and one thoughts racing through my head at once. I started to drift off again, but the lady wouldn't let me. She started asking me more questions.

"Do you remember your name?" I told her. "Do you remember your birthday?" I told her my birthdate. Etc.

I didn't remember arriving in the parking garage. I just realized that I was there as they were taking the gurney out of the ambulance and unfolding the legs. I felt like I was flying up high. I finally had a chance to close my eyes, but what felt only like a few seconds later someone was shaking my right arm and asking me more questions. I was in a room with a colorful curtain across the door. A woman came up and told me she was going to take some blood. I don't remember her taking it. I think I just passed out.

Again I woke up to a nurse talking to me and shaking my shoulder lightly. I needed to take off my pajamas and put on a hospital gown. By now I could barely sit up on my own. The nurse helped me sit up and closed the curtain while I changed clothing, then I laid back down. Then came the hard part. She asked me to take off all my jewelry. I took out my three ear piercings and my nose piercing with no problem. Just my plugs in my ears. Those were the hard part. I twisted once, my hand was shaking so hard I could hardly screw it off. Finally I got it off, I also dropped the back part on the pillow beside me..

"Do you need some help?" The nurse was being polite, but I didn't want to feel like a failure.

"I'm good." I said this. I always say this. Why do I say this? I know I need help. It took a few tries, but my hands were too shaky.

"How about we sit you back up again?" I nodded my head. The nurse sat me up with a couple pillows behind me. My arm felt like a lead weight. What's going on with me? Please Sammi, don't die. What about my friends? What about Kelly? What about Cayla and Olivia and Desi? What about Nick and Mike? They're all going to miss you. You weren't thinking Sammi! After what seemed like forever, I finally unscrewed my rose shaped plug from my ear. I dropped the back on the mattress again. I' feeling so stressed out and tired by now that I just fall back on the pillows and go to sleep. I have no idea what the doctors are planning on doing, but it's their job to keep me alive right? I can't die now. I feel so dumb for doing what I did. It was a selfish mistake. All I can think about now is how dumb I am.

I daze in and out of consciousness for the next few hours. I'm seeing creepy cats walk around on the ceiling, I'm seeing a crazy woman in a red shirt and white pants who disappears when I look, but she's back as soon as I look away. It's freaking me out and I just want to cry. There's this weird thing hanging from the ceiling. It reminds me of being at the dentist, but it's different... I don't know what it is. Everything's so confusing around here. Where are my parents even at? Shouldn't they have been here by now?
